My charge HR is 4-5 years old, and now after using it after a gap of 1 year the display brightness has reduced drastically. What to do?

One slim possibility, check in Quick Settings that you have not accidentally gotten into Sleep Mode that automatically dims the brightness.
Oops. As reminded by @LZeeW , Charge HR was before they had Sleep Mode, or probably even before Quick Settings.

@Kaizaki Can you please clarify that you are using a Charge HR? The Charge HR is a very old device and is on Fitbit's Legacy Device list. It's a bit if a surprise that it works at all.
That being said, a 4-5 year old Charge model could be a Charge 2 or 3. Fitbit's monochrome screens seem to lose their brightness over time. The Charge 3 has Sleep Mode, so it's worth checking, if you have a Charge 3. Other than that, this seems to be a consequence of old age.
