Charge HR thinks I’m in deep sleep when I’m not wearing it

Hello all. I only wear my Fitbit when I’m sleeping. If I wake up in the morning, take off my Fitbit, then go back to bed an hour or two later after putting it back on, then the sleep log indicates I was in deep sleep for the time I was awake and not wearing my Fitbit. What’s going on here, and is there a way to fix it?

I’m not certain, but I think this started happening after the big app redesign from like a year ago. I think it got more aggressive about combining naps with the previous night’s sleep.

Still, it seems like a bug to record deep sleep when you’re not wearing your Fitbit. It should be able to detect I have no heartbeat at all, right?  I’m either dead or not wearing it, but either way, I’m probably not sleeping. 😀

Hello @EricBW and welcome to the Community.  The LEDs should turn off when you you take off your Fitbit.  Sometimes they will stay on, because light gets reflected back from another object close by.  Often, it is from the watch bands overlapping.  This isn't a new bug or problem.
