Charge HR won't pair/sync. Stuck with the "thermometer" on screen

Hello all, my Charge HR is stuck with the "Thermometer" on it's display.  It is a thin rectangle that spans the display width and is 1/2 full.  It is not the "!" and it is not the battery indicator. 

I have tried:

Restarting (hold for 10-12 seconds) and all it does is the double flash, the fitbit icon will not show up.

All combinations of opening and closing the App and bluetooth, reistalling, etc.

Updating firmware (it's already up to date).

When scanning for Bluetooth devices, my phone does not find the Charge HR.

I really need my fitbit to activate/work.  Does anyone have any tips?

Hello @Webertime a thermometer will have the exclamation. 

Where you doing a firmware update? 

Does it look like this?

@Rich_Laue  Yes it appeared to be doing an update when this started.  Yes it looks like that, the ! isn't always there though

Yes it is stuck in the thermometer
