First wrist band became unglued and Fitbit replaced it under warranty. Replacement band is now becoming unglued but over 365 days. Offered 25% off towards replacement. Should have never come apart in the first place. Numerous complaint online about these bands. Time to look to a different company way to much money to break down in a little over year

My HR wrist band just fell apart, making it unwearable after just four months. Not thrilled.

Same problem, don't want to spend the money on a new one, but wearing current strap is uncomfortable, looks terrible as well. Didn't keep the packaging with the warranty info. What's my options

Hello @JimWatson & @Tinkabel1960,
The first thingI would do is send Fitbit an email describing your problem. Hoping they will send you replacement and or give you other options on other trackers.
Give them a shout @ http://help.fitbit.com/?cu=1

I have the same problem. First band fell apart under warranty, second band now falling apart in less than a year from when I received the replacement. This is clearly a design flaw and needs to be addressed or I'm going to another company's product.

@GregAdams and All,
This is how they fixed the band issue, they stopped making them and now they have a Charge 2 with a removable band.
Really clever fix.

They offered me a discount on a new Fitbit if I bought from the website, I decided not to take them up on the offer for two reasons, firstly there is no guarantee that the new one won't come apart, and secondly I can buy one cheaper from Amazon or from some of the major retail stores, my old one is sitting in the junk drawer and is probably destined for the garbage. I love the whole concept of Fitbit it's the product that lets it down.

I used Fitbit's Twitter account to show them a photograph that three (two warranty replacements) of my Charge HRs had the same problem. They responded and even though the original warranty had expired, they agreed to replace my third HR with another one. While this seems a reasonable thing to do, they haven't done anything about the root cause of the problem which is a manufacturing fault with their devices. Consumers should not be penalised by manufacturing faults. The limited warranty is very well written and seems to suggest that Fitbit doesn't have to do anything about this problem. However, given that in Australia and some other jurisdictions, manufacturing faults are the responsibility of the company and legislation is there to protect the consumer. In particular, items have to be reasonably durable and fit for purpose. Four months before they fall to bits is not reasonably durable and fit for purpose suggests that the "device" should be something that a person wears that is not cosmetically ugly. I suggest that many people buy Rolex watches is to show them off and Fitbit consumers like to let other people know they are doing something healthy in a manner of speaking. I was very motivated by my device and lost about 10 kgs. I had one of the first Fitbits (an Ultra) and I eagerly showed all my friends what it did and they purchased Fitbits based on my word of mouth and obviously advertising campaigns. All of these friends have the same fault even the Charge 2 HR so many of them will never be buying another device from Fitbit. That horse has bolted. Fitbit is not doing me a favour because I am a good and loyal customer, they are merely attempting to pay me off when they should be taking responsibility for their faults. In today's society, Corporate Social Responsibility is all about doing the right thing.

If they agreed to replace mine with a new one I definitely would go back to using it, I just feel a bit burned that they know that this is a design problem and not something I did to it so I'm pretty reluctant to spend any more money on a new one, I definitely agree that Fitbit is a great motivator, I track my weight with a Fitbit scale which has been working great. I'm now using MapMyRun for tracking and logging my runs.

I'm with you. I've had multiple Fitbits over the years and NOT one band has lasted. Whatever glue they use, is useless. A co-worker had the same experience. She just bought an Apple watch, but I don't want to spend that much money and I don't want a clunky watch. I'm done with Fitbit.

I am on my third wristband. All three have fallen apart. My most recent one happened after one month of use. So frustrating.
