Charge Hr band rubber coming apart + crack under it

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Today I noticed the rubber on my device was coming apart. There's a definite gap between the band and the rubber covering it. When I looked more closely, there's a crack in the band under where the rubber is coming apart, where the band and the display meet. I bought this back in July 2016. My device before this one never had any problems like this, and I had it well over a year before my current one.

I don't have the receipt for the device, but I have the order number and emails from when I bought it. I really want a replacement, the damage doesn't match up with daily wear and tear, there should be no reason for a crack in my device. What should I do?

@kchood1011, you need to contact Fitbit Support so that they can help resolve this issue.

I received my fitbit Christmas 2015, last summer the band bubbled and I received a replacement. Not even a year later it bubbled again. I called today and they offered me 25% off the next one. I think the warranty should be from the replacement not the original since it is now a new product..I am not happy and I will never support them again.

Call 877-623-4997 and they will be able to pull up your info. They will only replace within 1 year of original purchase. I am having issues for the 2nd time bubbling and due to it is past the 1 year warranty but not 1 year of replacement they are only offering 25% off a new one....get what you can from them

I sent them an email explaining what was going on. If a replacement is going to bubble again, then I would rather get a different device, like the Alta HR, with them paying for as much as my Charger HR costed when I bought it, and I will pay the difference for an Alta HR.

Welcome to the forums @nfchick

Christmas 2015 or 2016?

You read the warranty information? It's here - click

There have been posts from ChargeHR owners who were past warranty and were able to get a watchband (.22 mm size) from Walmart for under $5. It might be a good solution for you.

Can you provide a link showing how to use the Charge HR with a 22mm watch strap after the original band has failed?

Mine is bubbling up and I'm a bit of a watch nut so I've got loads of spare watch straps to play with...

While that is nice info, that won't help me as my band has a crack in it.

My fitbit is one piece, the strap can't be replaced or I would look at that option. Such an expensive product should last longer then 2 replacements in just over a year and from the look of the conversations it is a common issue...I will support another product line if I buy another one

@Higs456  you'll want to do a search on the forums to see if you can find the various posts on it. I never had to do it myself, but read several times that people were able to use that size watch band.

Just doing a quick Google search, there seem to be quite a few You Tube videos on exactly how to fix the band. Might be you'll find a video to guide you along the way.

Let us know what happens. It would be nice to have a link to help others in a similar situation.

I've just had this problem happen to two of these fitbits also, and I'm waiting to hear back from customer support.  I'll post how they respond, as I'm not impressed by the build of this product if as it appears to be a not uncommon flaw.  Hopefully they'll be helpful. as I've enjoyed the fitbit (while it's stayed in one piece) and I'm happy to upgrade as long as they offer some sort of compensation.

If it is past the warranty they will offer 25% off a new one and put you on hold to make out they are doing you a favour by talking to their manager. If under warranty still they will offer you 50% a new upgrade or a replacement, good luck!
