Hello- having real trouble charging my battery! The Fitbit vibrates when it’s connected to my computer but I never get the battery icon and it won’t charge. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you've opened them wide enough then the bottom of the clips should be touching the main body of the charger.

Two other things to check:

1) Are you putting the Charge 3 in the right way round in the charger? The little dent in the left hand side of the Charge 3 should be in line with the hole that's on one of the clips of the charger.

2) Try another plug socket / USB socket / USB plug to see if that makes a difference. Something to note is that Fitbit say not to use a USB hub for charging. This is because many don't provide enough power for charging.

I had this exact problem. I discovered I wasn't opening the "clips" of the charger wide enough when putting my Charge 3 in. So, even though it fitted in and vibrated, it didn't make that final contact with the charging points and so didn't charge.

Thank you for your post. Really not sure what I’m doing wrong. I had a charge 2 and never had any issues. I’ve tried to open the clips wider but still not working. Any other tips?

I tired another port and another charger, my fitbit remains at 10% and will not charge further.  This is one of many issues with this model.

Thanks for jumping in here @EmpressVashti! Also, thanks for already trying a different USB port.

I'd recommend restarting your Charge, from the clock face, swipe to Settings and tap Reboot Device

You can also manually restart it by following these steps:

  1. Plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Clip the other end of the charging cable to the port on the back of the tracker. The pins on the charging cable must lock securely with the port.
  3. Make sure the button on your tracker is aligned with the button opening on the charging cable. You’ll know the connection is secure when the tracker vibrates and you see a battery icon on your tracker’s display.
  4. Press and hold the button on your tracker for 8 seconds. Release the button. When you see a smile icon and the tracker vibrates, the tracker restarted.
  5. Unplug your tracker from the charging cable.

Once you've done that, please check and review the tips and recommendations in the article: Why isn't my battery charging? There are some factors prevent your Charge 3 from getting charged.

Just to note @EmpressVashti and @MarreFitbit that only those with the 1.44.33 firmware have the option to reboot their device from the Charge 3 menu. Everybody else can only reboot using the charger method.

Hi my Fitbit won’t charge. The Fitbit charge screen displays 1% and doesn’t change after charging for more than 30mins. I have changed the USB port, cleaned the pins. I have also reset the device but these actions have not resolved the issue. I wore it in the shower this week which I don’t normally do. Could this have affected the battery? My watch was purchased in October 2018 so I don’t think the warranty is valid now. Any advice please?
