Charge2 not charging and hot

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have been a Fitbit user since 2014 and the Charge 2 is my 5th device. I have had no issues with it until today. I woke up and it was dead. I put it to charge and after 2 hours it showed a white circle with exclamation. I followed all of the suggested steps but the battery just feels hot and it doesn't have a display, even though the app shows a full battery. Please help!

@Fitmom16 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! I hope you're doing well! Sorry to hear that your tracker isn't charging. Try cleaning the contacts including using cotton with rubbing alcohol then charge it by plugging it for a couple of hours directly to your computer's usb port (try different ports) or use an UL listed usb wall adapter. After this restart your device and see how it behaves.

Let me know how it goes!

Thanks for responding! I cleaned the contacts as suggested, however there is still no display and it does not appear to be doing anything right now. Should I just leave it plugged in even though it does not appear to be charging? If this doesn't work I will have no choice but to switch to another company.. I've worn several fitbit devices every day over the last 4 years and cannot continue buy a product that won't even last 2 years.. Please help!

I have an update. I tried your suggestion and was actually able to see a display, restart multiple times, and get the Charge 2 fully charged. I was so relieved! The bad news is that  about 15 minutes later I was back to a black screen and no sign of life. What now?

I too have been having trouble with charging my Fitbit Charge 2 although a slightly different issue.  It is only 18 months old (mine never seem to last much longer). Mine isn't holding any charge whatsoever.  No response from the screen, put it on the charger and then a while later it is fully charged.  Put it on the wrist and 5 minutes later it is dead.  Tried this 3 days running and I've chucked it in the bin.

Off to find another product as I am so sick and tired of always having to buy another one.
