My Fitbit Charge 2 and App are no longer smoothly sending to Strava.
if I use the side button to start the exercise, it is recorded in Fitbit App but not sent to Strava.
if I manually start in the App the GPS record is so poor that it does not recorded the miles or the route, though it will send data to Strava it is a poor record.
if I record directly in Strava there is no HR data.
this used to work. While this is an old device I think this is an API issue at Fitbit who manage.
I have tried all the turn it off an on again suggestions and set up.
if this connection is broke then I may switch to a direct to Strava supplier.
any ideas?

Fitbit/Google functionality with Charge 2 and other older devices has been broken since the beginning of September in various ways. Any attempts at getting a response is just met with they're aware and looking into it. No official details on problem or timeline for fix. Maybe certain functions supporting older devices have been deprecated. Seems unlikely they're going to be fixing or bringing features back. Seems like it'd be very simple to reverse what they removed. Certainly shouldn't take over a month if they cared.
I have a modern smart watch with heart rate sensor and GPS on it, and it works fine with Fitbit. Fitbit + Charge 2 was working fine for over a year and then it all broke in September. Initially Fitbit lost the ability to store GPS for my runs triggered on Charge 2. After a week or 2, Fitbit lost the ability to even store runs triggered from the Charge 2. Of course, the newer device works fine. Not the Charge 2..
