Charger 3 doesn’t record active minutes

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I’ve had this Fitbit for about a year. Nothing has changed in my routine. It registers heart rate and calories correctly (in fat burn or peak), but doesn’t show active minutes. Sometimes it’ll register them when I reboot, but now it’s stopped doing even that. Ive rebooted from device and hard rebooted while charging. It doesn’t seem to fix the issue.

Hi there @Mkelly80, welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided about your active minutes and for taking the time to restart your Charge 3. I'll be glad to help you.

My first recommendation is to check the help article: What are active minutes?

Note that the algorithms detect subtle differences in exertion that may explain why two seemingly identical activities result in different active minute totals. For example if you took a brisk walk along the same route two days in a row, differences in your speed and exertion levels (e.g. out of breath vs not out of breath, etc) will cause different active minute totals for the two activities.

Because the Charge 3 primarily tracks movement through the use of an accelerometer, it is more accurately detect active minutes for step-based activities (brisk walking, running) than non-step based activities or activities that require more than steps (yoga, tennis). Trackers like the Charge 3, with a heart rate monitor detect active minutes most accurately, since heart rate data allows us to better estimate caloric burn and, in turn, exercise intensity.

Also note that if you're manually logging activities, your Charge 3 uses a standard MET score and your (optional for custom activities) calorie burn to calculate active minutes. Said that, high calorie burn activities will give you active minutes. Therefore, since custom activities don't include a MET score associated, you'll only get active minutes for those activities if you also log a high calorie burn.

If you are working out in a max, and not getting active minutes, after taking in consideration the information above, let me know.

I'm looking forward to you response.

MyCharge 3 used to register everything I did and for the last 6 weeks, everything on activities is zero. This includes my brisk activities. They register on hourly but not on active minutes and I too have rebooted.
