As you see, charging plating is worn out. So it's not easy to charge. I must push and press it so hard. It's very hard and annoying.

How can I fix it ? Should I send it to Fitbit HQs or just give it up ?

If you have had it less than a year, contact Customer Support and they will probably replace it......

Is it broken or are the contacts just really corroded??

Unfortunately it's been 15 months so far. So sad. I missed the last call.

Actually it's not broken and its surface is damaged. You can see it in the picture.

Does anybody fix itthough Fitbit customer surpport ?

Pretty sure fitbit doesn't fix anything. They replace units under warranty and that's about it. Even simple, silly things like lost buckles get you a replacement tracker -- if under warranty. Beyond the warranty period they normally offer you a 25% coupon off another tracker Smiley Frustrated

@WinstonLee Welcome to our Community! Have you tried cleaning the contacts? Try using a toothpick or a toothbrush to clean the dirt after this use cotton and rubbing alcohol to finish the cleaning process. You can also try @SunsetRunner suggestion and contact our Support Team.

Let me know how it goes!

Acutally I tried it over and over again with a wet cotton swab(Q-tips) but in vain. It's not a dirt nor dust issue. The plating is worn out within 15 months only ! I gave up.

If I ship it to Fitbit customer service, is it possilbe to fix it up ?

@WinstonLee I guess you could try the toothpick or toothbrush option to try to remove the dirt from the contacts. Still try contacting our Support Team and ask them what they can do for you.

I have the Ionic and it was becoming more and more difficult to get it to charge (happened in less than a year so Fitbit replaced it).  There are 3 little pins that have to touch 3 little contacts and I noticed on my (now old) Ionic that there is a tiny hole in the middle of the 3 charging contact plates (right where the pins need to make contact).  Once those little holes are big enough its over (no more charging).  I ordered a soldering kit and I am going to try putting a tiny dot of solder right in the middle where the contact got stripped away to see if I can revive my old Ionic (then my son will have one too).  I'll post back if it works.

Fitbit designers,  the magnetic charging connection is really cool but the slap that the magnetic connection makes (in pounds per square inch on the ends of those little pins) is probably what is damaging the contact plates.  Either put a thicker contact plate or something that slows down the speed at which the pins hit the contact plate (rubber or air cushion?).

Any luck? My middle one is beastly completely gone. I charged it overnight.  It was at 92% battery when last synced.  I was wearing it when it shut off by itself and never came back on.  I was not swimmin . Just outside talking  to my friend when I looked to see what time it was.  Fitbit will not replace it versus I bought it peer to peer not retailer to peer. The lady had won it at a company function and didn't like the design.  She was taking the money and buying a versa with it. So I guess I'm just SOL.

I got Fitbit to finally replace it last year.

The first time my Ionic had tiny holes in the middle of each contact, I was able to put the tiniest amount of solder on each one (took a few tries).  Need a fine point soldering iron.  The second time the contacts wore out I think I killed it.  Now I own a Garmin vivo active 3.  At least I got a couple of extra years out of the Ionic.
