Choosing the running option but end up walking for a good majority

Hey!

Quick question re edercise tracking and calories burned. If you choose the running option on your device and set off for your workout but end up walking for a good 65% of the time, will the calories burned still be calculated on the assumption that you are running, or will they be calculated based on distance and pace? In other words, if I did the same exact  workout but had chosen the ‘walk’ program instead, would i have the same calorie burn?

thanks!

@iwillthinkof   I am almost 100% sure that it doesn't make a difference.  Your Charge 2 uses heart rate based algorithms for calculating calorie burn.  Also, I took a recent Walk and changed it to a Run.  The calorie burn didn't change.

One thing I don't have an answer for is if this "mostly walked" run tracked as a Run messes with your Cardio Fitness Score.  There are threads from other users that talk about Cardio Fitness score dropping for no good reason.  I recommend Walk until you are really running most of the time.  Something to think about.
