Clarification on Stairs Climbed feature.

Concerning many posts about scrapping the 'Stairs Climbed" feature, FitBit needs to clarify. Many contributors claim that this totally inaccurate feature screws up some of the other functions whilst JohnnyRoy ( in January 2020) said: Floors climbed do not affect steps, calories, or anything else. It is entirely a stand-alone stat. Who is correct?

I also do not know what changed! When I first got my versa three it recorded accurately. Then about six months ago I am all of a sudden getting 50 flights of stairs. When I know I’ve only done about 10. It is recording stairs in the middle of the night I have not added any fans to the room when I sleep or any sound machines, it happened after one of the updates

It appears that Fitbit has identified stairs as an ongoing issue and have removed the stair option from the charge five. As frustrating as the stair count is, it has been one of the more entertaining tiles on my Fitbit charge for within the iOS app. I have noted that when I , when I am having a restless night and flipping the covers on and off trying to get comfortable, I get credit for floors.

When you consider that the altimeter built into the Fitbit devices needs to determine a change in pressure over roughly a 10 foot high flight of stairs. It is easy to understand how the change of pressure created by wind, fan, flipping of bedding at night, etc. might occur.E an end result in the addition of unclimbed stairs to the stair pound.

I hope you were able to understand what I have dictated. I am a blind user and opt for dictation over typing purely out of convenience.

I was sitting in a chair yesterday and it turned over to 10,000 step’s because I was gesturing. My Fitbit still counts stairs,
