Cleaning the electronic connections on the wristband and charger?

The inside of the wristband accumulates dirt from soapsuds, skin, etc. Some of this also transfers to the connector bits of the charger. This prevents the charger from charging the unit. Is it ok to use a swab (Q-tip) dipped in alcohol and squeezed nearly dry to wipe off the connectors?
