Connector clips for wrist band broken

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

The wrist band connector of my Charge 4 has broken. This happened during normal use and after taking very good care of my Charge 4 as it was an expensive investment for me. I have taken up the issue via the live chat but the person was of no help: he just told me that the device is no longer under warranty and also cannot be repaired. I find this to be completely unacceptable. I had the watch for only a year! And the device itself still works perfectly but is now unusable because it cannot be worn!

I’ve had the exact same happen to me yesterday and this is the 2nd time it has happened, very frustrating!

I just epoxied mine back on.  I use a third party watch band that mount with standard spring pins, do the releasable clips are unnecessary.

If it's past your warranty, you are SOL!!

My first charge 4 band broke like yours and got a warranty replacement.  My replacement charge 4 had the same issue and fitbit would not replace it.  They know it's a defective model but they will not go above your warranty time limit.

Here is what I did to extend the life of my charge 4; use a strong glue or epoxy.   I used gorilla glue......put a drop or 2 on the band where it clips onto your fitbit....connect the band to the fitbit then connect the bands upside down or backwards so that the glue dries with band and connector fused together.    Wait a day for the glue to dry and try it back on.  I did this to mine over a month ago and it is showing no signs of coming off.

Hope this helps!!

Thank you for the advice.

It is unbelievable that Fitbit won't replace a model that they know is defective! All the comments on this thread are evidence of that. It makes me even more angry to know that so many other people have also been let down by this issue.

The Charge 4 has had issues with the Injection Molded Case/Pebble clips from Day 1 of its release. And Fitbit have been very unhelpful in deliberately individualising each User's problem, not acknowledging the issue as a design/manufacturing problem.

Then add the issues of waterproofing, screens and altitude/pressure sensors dying, bands breaking, .....

The Charge 3 & 4 both use the same band, but the 3 has a metal case/pebble.

Thank you for the reply. I am really shocked at Fitbit's attitude toward the problem and really disappointed. I was on the fence about buying a Fitbit or a Garmin for an activity tracker, and regrettably chose Fitbit.
