Hi can anyone help me my Fitbit is counting steps when I drive. It keeps clocking them when I am not walking stepping?

My charge 2 logged over 1000 steps in my handbag on the floor of the car on a drive. Is there a solution to this. I noticed it also logs steps on my wrist while travelling. This is not good as we are currently travelling so my steps will not be accurate

Currently @KerrySteps there are a few solutions, one of which has been marked as the solution.

The other two is to download the app Drivebit or Travelbit.

Yeah right! The Charge 2 counts steps while driving without a doubt!

If I press the button on the side of my Charge 2 then I can choose exercise modes, ie workout, weights etc...can a "driving" mode be created so we can press the button at the beginning and end of each journey to stop it recording steps?

I believe there are 19 events of which 7 may be chosen, driving is not one of them.

I suggest voting for this suggestion

Hi

Thanks for your advice, hopefully they fix this soon. I can't believe that they haven't done it yet, would make Fitbit soooooo much more user friendly!

Cheers

Maybe mane not @Carolfb, the comunity forum is where the comunity of Fitbit users hang out to help their fellow Fitbit users out. Posting in this forum is to ask for help from your fellow fitbit user, and will not mean that Fitbit ever read your comments.

If you want Fitbit to read your comments you will wsnt to go to the feature suggestion forum  where the Dev team looks to see what the Fitbit users wiuld like. That is why i posted a link to the Feature Suggestion.

Now when it comes to the Feature Suggestion forum,  think of yourself as a lawyer,  your not their for idle chat, or even to say i want it to, your vote ssys that. Your post there to present your case as to why you feel the requested feature should be added.

The  accepted solution of entering manually is unacceptable in my opinion. Makes it too much work, I bought a Fitbit so it would do the job for me, having to log in and out to adjust manually is cumbersome. Might as well have a $2 pedometer and an excel spreadsheet. At least then we wouldn’t have paid big money to log steps manually

But for now it is the only solution Fitbit has to offer.

Travelbit while still available for iOS is no longer available for Android.

Another possible solution is to fix the suspension on the car or by a car with not as stuff suspension
