new charge 2 is counting ridiculous number of floors that were not climbed. Should be 8, showing 63. Is there an adjustment that can be made somewhere. Old charge hr was very accurate.

Thanks for that info @muldoonmay! Ok, considering that nothing seems to be affecting the floors counted, we can say that the issue is with your Charge 2 itself, so I have escalated your case to our Support team for them to further assist you. So please keep an eye on your inbox.

My fitbit Charge 2 has been fine and suddenly started registering a silly amount of floors.  I live in a bungalow and if I don't go out, I have no stairs or gradients to climb and it still registers multiple floors. I've tried up installing the upgrade (suggested by Fitbit) and then turning off during charging and restarting it but it's still wrong. It isn't under warranty so I guess I am stuck with a device that now just irritates me. Can I turn OFF the floors bit so I don't have to see a fault every day?  I am losing my faith in the device.

Hey @SophieBG, it is great to see new faces around! If your Charge 2 is counting too many extra floors that you are not actually climbing, I'd like explain to your how your tracker detect them. Your device measures floors using an altimeter, which is a sensor that calculates altitude based on atmospheric pressure. Though your device is designed to look for pressure changes based on elevation gains, pressure changes due to other causes—such as a gust of wind, a weather change, or opening a door—can occasionally cause your device to register extra floors.

Please take those factors into consideration, but if you see that the issue persists, let me know. I will continue assisting you.

Its not gusts of wind as I am not outside much , I don't have fans. I don't
have slopes. It has been working perfectly but then just went wrong. I just
want to turn off floors. It is a preloved device so I don't think under
warranty. Very disappointed and is making me reconsider whether to renew
with a Fitbit when the time is right.

Thanks for your reply @SophieBG!

I would recommend you to clean the altimeter on the Charge 2 itself, maybe there is s little bit of dust that prevents it from calculate your floors right. So please take a look at the tips in this post to do so.

Now about removing the floors count option, go to your Fitbit account, go to "Account" > "Charge 2" > "Customize display" and remove the check on "Floors", then just sync your Charge 2 to save those changes.

I have cleaned the device but also turned off floors. I hope I can begin to
enjoy my Fitbit experience again. I have found it so motivating but have
become very frustrated when it doesn't work properly.

Thank you.

I hope your Charge 2 works fine after cleaning the altimeter @SophieBG. But it is fine if you decided not to use the floors feature anymore. If you have further questions or comments, let me know.

I tried all the suggestions and finally turned off the floor counter. I am wondering though if the incorrect floor counting also make the calorie counter incorrect.
