Started wearing my fitbit 2 in february 2019 having been given it for my birthday. Just noticed a vertical crack the full length of the screen. I have the receipt from Argos. Can I replace the item ?

You can ask customer service here, but the likely response will be that screen cracks are not covered under the warranty.
