Deleted activity and lost heart rate data

I accidentally deleted an activity log, and then realised that although my steps (total steps) are still registered, my heart rate measurements for that activity are completely blank. Tried re-synching and they are apparently permanently deleted. B****y irritating!

Where are you looking to see heart rate?

I don't understand if you deleted the activity log, how you can be looking at any measurements for an activity that doesn't exist.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
