Device Syncs OK but notifications says I need to pair device and that never works

I’ve had my device for a year now and it does all the monitoring stuff and syncs the data with my iPhone but when I click the notifications option on the app it just keeps loading and never gives me the option to do anything else, I’ve restarted, reinstalled etc but nothing’s worked, anyone else come across this?

Normally I would suggest tapping on the notice to pair the device, Fitbit will then step you through the pairing process.

Your Charge 2 does not have to be paired to your phone for the sync process, however for the connected GPS and notifications pairing to the phone is required. This can not be done through the phone as one would pair a Bluetooth speaker, but needs to be done by tapping on the watching that you see.

When I tap on the watch symbol in the app then click notifications  it just loads and never actually opens for me to select anything
