Device lock feature isn't working properly on my Charge 4

Hi, I turned on device lock and chose a pin for my Charge 4, but only see an option to enable the pin for Fitbit purchases and can’t deselect it.  I want to require a pin in case I lose it. Looked at some other threads and videos, and it seems that other users, or maybe other Fitbit styles, see a second option on the device Lock Screen to enable pin for more than just payments. Is that not an option on Charge 4?

Hi there, @CB-W. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear that the device lock feature isn't working properly on your Charge 4. Thanks for taking the time to troubleshoot this inconvenience prior to posting here, I'll be glad to continue assisting you.

If you set up Fitbit Pay or Google Pay, the device lock is turned on and you’re prompted to set a personal 4-digit PIN code when you add a payment card for the first time.

To turn on the device lock without setting up contactless payments:

  1. In the Fitbit app, tap the Today tab > Devices  > your device.
  2. Tap Device Lock.
  3. Find the option to set a 4-digit PIN code.

When device lock is on, your Fitbit device locks when you're not wearing it. Enter your PIN code when you put your device back on your wrist or if it's been more than a day since you last entered your PIN code. If you only want to be prompted to enter your PIN code when you're ready to make a contactless payment, change the device lock setting to Enabled for Fitbit Pay Only or Enabled for Google Wallet Only.

Note that your card issuer may require you to re-enter your PIN code to authorize a payment.

To change the device lock setting:

  1. In the Fitbit app, tap the Today tab > your Devices > your device.
  2. Tap Device Lock.
  3. Tap to change your device lock setting.

Hope this helps!
