Device not tracking sleep and heart rate / battery not lasting

All of a sudden my Fitbit stopped recording heart rate and sleep, but it will still record steps, hourly exercise stats and sync. It also will only keep a charge for one day! What is wrong and how can I fix it?

Hi @Southporty, welcome to the Community Forums!

I appreciate the information that was shared in your post. Let me share with you that the battery of our Charge 2 device was designed to last 5 days but this also depends on how frequently you use it’s features. That said, I recommend you charging your Fitbit device with a USB port from a computer or a UL-certified outlet into the wall and then turn off all the features that you don’t use that much. After doing so, please this help article for more tips and recommendations.

Regarding the sleep inconvenience, can you please let me know if your device is recording sleep information but not Sleep Stages? Also, when was the first time you experienced this and how many times since then? Take in consideration that if you're experiencing heart rate difficulties, your device will not track Sleep Stages. Please expand on this sleep information concern so I can better assist you.

Regarding heart rate tracker, can you please let me know if the heart rate sensors of your device are still flashing? I recommend you to check our help article: Why don't I see my heart rate on my Fitbit device?.

Keep me posted and let me know if you have any additional questions.

Thankyou for your reply.  My Fitbit exhibited these problems starting on Sept. 8, and ever since then. I do charge my Fitbit either in an approved USB port or with a wall adapter. I did restart my Fitbit according to directions here. The charge lasts about a day now compared to before when I could get nearly a week. The restart seems to have improved the life to slightly more than a day when prior to restart, it wouldn’t last a whole day.

The heart recording function: does not flash, displays the last resting heart rate.

I have read other posts which seem to indicate a glitch with the newest update.

I would appreciate additional help. I have made sure all of the other advice given in your reply has been followed.

thank you
