Difficulties with heart rate and pace notification

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

1) noticed heart rate sometimes goes blank on the display.   Seems to be gone when I most need to know what my heart rate is.   not clear if its just due to sweat (I have sweat bands on either side of my watch) or could I be seeing a irregular heart beat which would throw it off.   I no history of that but just wondering.  Usually it starts working again and doesnt happen everytime.  (maybe my fitbit just doesnt want to worry me about my elevated heart)   😉

2)  I now only notifies me of my pace every 1.0 mile rather than 0.5 miles like it had before.   I looked all through the settings to see where that might have gotten reset some how.  Could not not find it.

3) heart rate data is no longer reported on web site or on my phone.   The last hike/exercise where it reported that was in July 28 for me.   After that it is missing that data.

Hi @Charles_Gardner, it's nice to see you again participating here in the Community Forums!

Thanks for the information and details that were shared in your post, thanks for bringing to my attention the difficulties you're experiencing with your Charge 2 device. I'll answer your concerns in the same way they were posted:

1. When you experience this heart rate inconvenience, the heart rate sensors of your device are still flashing? Also, if you haven't already done so, I recommend you to check our help article: Why don't I see my heart rate on my Fitbit device? and let me know how it goes. Such information was really helpful for other users that were experiencing the same uncommon behavior.

2. To better assist you with this, can you please let me know which mobile device you're currently using to sync your Fitbit so I can provide you with the steps to check this information? For general information you can check: How does my Fitbit device calculate distance?

3. The heart rate that's not being reported is only on the activities you performed or no heart rate information was synced since July 28th? If this is with the activities only, does this happen with an specific activity or with all of them? If possible, please send me a screenshot (you can check this post to attach the image into your post) so we can move forward.

Looking forward to your reply. Let me know if you have any additional questions.

1)   The heart rate on the watch just shows "-- --".   I am thinking it because of sweat.  I am trying to make use of sweat bands and that sometimes works.   It is also showing low heart rates when I know it should be higher since I'm climbing a steep hill at the time.   I have tried making the band tighter or looser but that generally has no affect on the reading.  However when the exercise recording was showing the heart rate charts (see below), the charts showed that it was recording reasonable values for the location at the time.

***  With the above issue and the fact that the watch face is nearly impossible to read in the sun, is why I want the heart rate included in the verbal alert part.

2)  Found the setting for alert times and it had been set back to one hour.  I did not reset it myself, since it took nearly an hour of poking around in the menus to set it.

3)  When viewing ones last walk, it would show charts of cals, heart rate and heart rate zones.   Even today I can go to my phone or pc and see those charts on walks done on or before July 28.   But go look at Sept recordings and the heart rate and zones charts are missing.   Now it only shows cals...which I could care less about.
