Discomfort with my Charge HR

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have a fitbit HR which I haven't used since July 2015 because of a horrific bike accident. To fix my wrist I have two plates and 20+ screws. Today I put my fitbit on my wrist and was given a jolt. I seemed to be getting some sort of electrical shock. Anyone else have this problem.

I didn't think anything about putting it on my wrist. After 7 months of
bars and casts on the wrist I was just glad the last cast was gone and the
swelling was down. I suspect it has a lot to do with ALL the metal holding
me wrist back on my arm. Thanks for the reply.

Hello, your bike accident seems really scary! I hope you are ok now! I have a few questions about the incident. How bad was the shock? Does your Charge HR still work? Do you have any devices like a pacemaker? Did you put your Charge HR on the wrist with the plates? That is very strange, as the Charge HR is >5V, which is pretty harmless.

Yes I put the the fitbit on the wrist with the plates. I have a plate on
the top and bottom of the wrist. There is no damage to the fitbit. In fact
I have been wearing it on my other wrist on occasion.

You should ask your doctor if it's ok to wear the Fitbit on that wrist. If the Fitbit is ok on the other wrist then the Fitbit itself if fine. It might have something to do with the plates.

I had a couple of really bazar things happen to me last week and am wondering if anyone

else has had similar experiences.  The other night I experienced a shock that felt like

it was going thru the vein in my foot. . .This happened 3 times within a span of 20 minutes.

I thought it was weird, rubbed the area and went on with my day.  Several hours later

while I was asleep I was awaken to another shock somewhere on my body and laid  in a daze

wondering what that was. . . a few minutes after that I experience another shocking feeling going

on in my chest. . . I decided to take my Fitbit charge2 off and went back to sleep.  In the morning I

googled shocks and Fitbits and came across a some Posts that others were experiencing shocks, but got them while touching shopping carts etc. I read about some people that were having issues with tooth implants, which led me to the fact that I have had a total shoulder replacement on the same arm that I was wearing the Fitbit. So,  I haven’t worn my charge 2 since the incidents, which makes me sad, as I really enjoyed the information it gave me.  Is anyone else having this type of issue that have had a joint replacement?  Is this a defect in the product, is it because of a joint replacement?  Am I going crazy?? Thank you for your time, help and encouragement.  I hope that I can get some answers.
