Display not working on Charge 2

The display on my Charge 2 stopped working. I get nothing. It still syncs to my phone, but no display and no notifications. I have restarted multiple times, but no change. Anyone else experience this?

Thank you for your response. That is interesting as this is my 3rd Fitbit that has failed, all for different reasons but the 2 previous ones within warranty. I should‘ve addressed the fine crack in the face of this 3rd one earlier as the warranty has now expired and I am not sure whether to continue with Fitbit either. I will look around and compare too! Thank you for your information and good luck with your new Samsung!

When that happened to me, I contacted Fitbit and they told me to buy a new tracker

My display had had a fine crack in it so I‘m not sure if that contributed to the screen failure of my device. You don‘t mention if your screen was cracked, but they do crack easily even without you noticing!

My device just started displaying half a screen, then after I charged it, it went completely blank. I thought the whole device had stopped working but then realised it was still live though obviously I had stopped wearing it. Mine is completely useless as it is and the screen has never revived! I have to decide whether to get another or just stick to my Runkeeper on my phone! Good luck with yours, but it sounds like it has died!

I have been having the same issue. It seems to still be counting my steps according to the app but the display is black and wont turn on.

I got a Samsung galaxy active to replace my broken Fitbit (I’ve had 4 die after a year or so). The Samsung is much better. Totally different with many good features. Only downside is battery life is short. I won’t buy another Fitbit. For $50 more I got something much more useful. Hopefully it lasts. Good luck.

For the record, I just had the same blank screen issue as the rest. Tried all od the stuff to reset but to no avail. Just past the one year mark so I guess I'm screwed too.

I am having the same problem. My display just stopped showing up one day.  My fitbit charges and activity is tracked on my phone by I can't see the display at all.  Did anyone post any solutions?

I’m pleased to hear your display has revived! Mine is dead as a Dodo! I’ve given up with Fitbit!

No my display never revived — I’m using one my husband passed along to me which continues to work (yes! Even after the one year mark miraculously).

I tried the Samsung galaxy active and it was a nice watch with plenty of fancy features. But it didn’t track steps properly, and would not sync with MyFitnessPal properly, and was not fully compatible with iOS. So I’m back to the hand-me-down fit bit. I wish Fitbit would make a tracker that didn’t stop working just after the warranty ended.

Still looking for an ideal solution.

Good luck.

Call the customer service. They should help you since it’s a new replacement.

It takes time to reach them sometimes, but they do try to walk you through the problems.

Why can’t Fitbit make a tracker that doesn’t stop working so easily? It’s otherwise my tracker of choice at this point.

As the writer of the original post, I can't believe how many people have had this problem, and how nothing has been done to fix it.  My husband got me a new Charge 3 for my birthday, after a few months the screen is already fading.  It is so dim that I cannot see it unless I have it at just the right angle, and sometimes not at all.  It is getting dimmer over time.  This is not the same watch I originally posted about.  It is an updated version, and I've had it for less time.  I'm currently saving my money for an Apple watch, and I will never purchase another Fitbit item again.  If I worked for them I would be embarrassed that this has not been fixed seeing that it is such a prevalent issue.

Ditto! My Fitbit was also a replacement watch and actually I should have addressed it earlier as mine started to fade a while before the whole screen disappeared. I originally thought it was a charging issue. I stopped wearing the watch for a while as I was away on a sailing/beach trip and it was only when I received the notifications that I realised that the watch was charged and it was just the screen that was failing! The watch was then beyond warranty and Fitbit only offered me a discount to buy another one. I decided against it on the basis that it was the 3rd one that had failed!

It is hugely disappointing and yes Fitbit should address the problem as it is clearly a common issue with their product.

Thank you for your feedback and I hope you get great satisfaction from your Apple Watch.

Best wishes!

Wow. I’m not sure if an Apple watch will be a good tracker for me which is why I’ve resisted buying one at such a high price. Let us know if it replaces as a tracker.

Hi

I have tried your suggestion and my screen is still blank. My fitbit is charged.

Yeah. These trackers just die. If it’s under warranty they will replace it. If not they send you $25 towards a new one.

I have charged my Fitbit Charge 2, I have turned it on and off multiple times (I assume--it's hard to tell without a display), I've cleaned it, and I've tried changing the display in my account.

I still don't get a display.  It's still counting steps and tracking my sleep according to the app on my phone.

What should I do?
