Does a cracked charge hr affect how waterproof it is?

The Charge HR is not waterproof. You shouldn't swim or shower with it. See page 21 of the user manual - click to read

 

There are third party places that sell hard covers for these devices. If you can still read the screen, you could do a search to see if this might help you.
