Enable Blood Oxygen Estimation on Charge 3?

I purchased a new Charge 3 and received it yesterday after hearing that Fitbit has activated a new feature that enables it to estimate blood oxygen levels during sleep. I made the switch from another Fitbit watch that I'd been wearing for a couple of weeks. How do I enable Sp02/blood oxygen monitoring/estimation on Charge 3?

Premium doesn't  give me spo2.  So no having premium will not nececarily give you the oxygen sensor ratings. Only some people have it and I dont understand how it is determine that they get it.

I've got the same software and firmware versions that Scott_ said he has, on Android 9, I don't subscribe to Premium, and I have the oxygen variation thing. No idea why. I'm also not yet sure how useful it is, and it only shows a trace for when I'm asleep (and the help page explains why).

Ever wonder why can't Fitbit rollout the feature to everyone but randomly?

I have the same problem! I am also somewhat annoyed that Fitbit advertises with the Charge 3 having Sp02. The button is there but it doesn't log a single thing. Stop advertising what you can't deliver, Fitbit!

I’m on Android 10...I wonder if that could have anything to do with it? Or maybe we’re just not the chosen...

I dont know fitbit seems to be more interested in shoving advertising of discover and premium at us.   I hoped paying them some each year would get those pushy ads off but noooo they take up a third of the application that I want to use. At least the pop up ad is gone.

My SO and I both have Charge 3's and are on the same build (28.200001.63.5). Hers got SPO2 data last week, but now all that data has vanished. Mine has never recorded SPO2 data. The lack of communication Fitbit has provided with this rollout and lack of transparency is just not what I would expect of a professionally run company. Patch notes are poorly written as well.

The "best" answer I could get from fitbit support is: "Thanks for sharing your feedback with us. Certain customers began seeing the graph in December 2019. The feature will be available to all customers sometime in 2020. So please keep your Fitbit device and app updated. Let us know if you have other questions."

Any idea why fitbit is doing this?

My first guess is it just release this feature to some users in Dec 2019 and pull back most just for the sake of reaching the 2019 milestone. Any other take?

Its not Feb.  I really want this capability and I'm frustrated that I just have to wait for my random selection to come up.  I am on a iPhoneXR and have firmware version 201.63.5.  I've restarted both the phone and the Charge3 and have even uninstalled and reinstalled the phone app.  I've also check my web based dashboard on Fitbit.com.  No blood oxygen level graph anywhere.  If there are any more tips to things to try I would love to know, but at this point if anyone has any info on where to track the dissemination I'm also interested.

All you'll get is "we don't know when" or "Between Dec 2019 and Jan 2020" of which has passed already.

Stuff like this has been a frustrating part of being a fitbit customer for as long as I can recall (back in the Charge HR days).

As someone earlier in this discussion mentioned, I'm hoping that Google will take their new property and create a speedier development pipeline with all the deep pockets they have available to pump in.

I'm a Google Pixel 4 user and Pixel phone enthusiast since the first one, and was leaning towards most likely jumping off the fitbit train and onto the Pixel Watch train once that device finally materializes, so I was happy to see Google purchase fitbit.  Hopefully sometime later this year Google will finally reveal the first Pixel Watch incorporating fitbit technology & community integration.  I'd like to stay plugged into my friends' weekly fitbit challenges, and was thinking (before Google bought fitbit) that I would miss being part of that fun.  Fingers crossed.

I too am wondering when it will be available. I bought the Charge 3 specifically for this feature. It is unprofessional that Fitbit told the media that it will roll out to all users by the end of Jan 2020 but turn around and tell the users it will be sometime in 2020.

Sorry...this can't be the best answer as it is inaccurate information.

I think we're all wondering. Although I would rather they roll out a product that works (if they're having difficulty) rather than a product that is shoddy, doesn't work, or otherwise has issues. That being said, there should definitely be more communication!!

I too was disappointed at the removal of the function after going through all the processes of setting the sleep timers etc. to get better results for my sleep habit readings. Finally getting "Good" scores and hoping to see better graph readings, I scrolled and refreshed over and over, back and forth, only to think i had changed the settings too much, inadvertently turning the feature I most wanted off. If we "the lucky few" were truly the "test subjects" for this feature, then why turn it off abruptly without notice? It seemed to be working fine during the time it was on, so, what gives? Any "real" answers out there Fitbit?

It is unlikely we can get any answer here. Even the fitbit moderators have remained silence on this issue already. I would suggest contacting fitbit support or fitbit PR directly.

Based on the media reports that this feature would be available in January, I replaced my Alta with a Charge 3 this week. I am very disappointed that Fitbit released misinformation on which I relied in making my purchase.

I just chatted with support and was told they couldn’t say when the function would be available.
