Enable Blood Oxygen Estimation on Charge 3?

I purchased a new Charge 3 and received it yesterday after hearing that Fitbit has activated a new feature that enables it to estimate blood oxygen levels during sleep. I made the switch from another Fitbit watch that I'd been wearing for a couple of weeks. How do I enable Sp02/blood oxygen monitoring/estimation on Charge 3?

Mine was on my charge 3..and it disappeared 2 weeks ago.. that was after the clock stopped working but it's still registering my steps and my sleep pattern everything else it's only a year old, any advice or should I just buy a new one again I don't think I've owned a Fitbit longer than a year and a few months I think I've gone through five

Definitely contact support and speak to someone about this issue. I had issues with mine and called them right away and was sent a replacement n/c. It may still be covered by original warranty so you got to call them, besides if this is a recurring thing with a product the company needs to know this. No product should quit working a year and month later. Fight for your consumer rights first.

Mine shows the element, but there is no graph. I’ve had a Versa 2 for a week, and the app (same one) does show Spo2 graphs for those days. But since I have the charge 3 back again, no graphs.

I also have a Garmin and it does show real spo2 levels. Not spo2-variation, which is a bull-**ahem** reading as pointed out by others. So if this is really important to you, I’d advise you to buy a Garmin. However sleep tracking is terrible on Garmin. Fitbit is way better in that area. That’s why I own both,

I happen to have the charge 3 (I know this is many months after your post) and it DID allow me to see the eov for about a week. Now the box is there but its empty (for almost 2 wreks) and I cannot figure out how to contact anyone to make it start reading again. I just found this post by searching and would really like to be able to turn this feature back on. I tried tightening the band, loosening the band, switching arms and position on my arm. Its getting ridiculous. Its also not tracking my o2 during exercise anymore either

How do you reboot it?

And will I lose any data if I do that?

Best Answer

@krissi37 turn your charge 3 on, swipe right til you get to Settings, scroll down and click on About, scroll down again to find Reboot Device.

This will restart your device. All your data will still there be, this just reboots the device.

Thanks for that bit of know how.  Rebooting  on occasion might be a good idea.

That's exactly what mine was showing. I took a members advice and reset my phone first. Then i plugged my charge 3 into it's charger and firmly held the button in for 8 seconds. A white line scrolled slowly across the screen. Then after i unplugged it from the charger i got a smiley face. The next day my est. oxygen levels returned. Hope this helps.

I have the same problem.  I just switched from a charge 2 to the charge 3 for this feature. And now i find out that it isn't actually available. (But at least Fitbit finally has a decent watchband that doesn't randomly fall off!). So I am guessing as consumers, there is a government organization to protect against false advertising. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi Tosa6

Can you tell me how to post that graph please?

I had a sleep study done in 2014 because of severe snoring & excessive tiredness resulting in me using a CPAP (which has changed my life & my family’s with no snoring) - I’m on the lower end of sleep apnea scale. I love checking on the graph because of it but it very seldom goes into the High level. Sometimes the graph may not be there when you first check but it can appear throughout the day so keep an eye on it.

I’ve had the sleep study done and apart from me being anxious about it it’s a sleep with attachments similar to a chest X-ray but it is in no way uncomfortable - my CPAP has given me a new life !!

I switched from a charge 2 to a charge 3 because of the wristband problem
also. The charge 3 does have the oxygen estimation feature which is after
you click on the sleep and then again on the sleep and then scroll down.
But I've been told that it does not tell you if you have sleep apnea. I
don't actually understand the significance of the fluctuations of air
oxygen in your blood if it doesn't tell you if you stop breathing.

I had the sleep study also & require a cpap machine, but the machine for me STOPS my breathing. I scared the tech when she turned it on because of my reaction to forced air . I tried 3 styles & the one I have now is better but I don't like it. The first 1 I used made my mouth & nose bleed every morning so I requested one with water & its better for moisture i still fight the forced air till i become unconscious and then allow it. Im just not comfortable with a mask on forcing air into my nose & mouth. I feel like I'm suffocating.  I end up taking it off & sleeping in recliner or raising head of bed w/o cpap on. Don't like the cpap at all. Do like getting some info on breathing in case I'm really struggling so I know where I stand.
