I have had a Charge 2 since last May. Every exercise I have done that meets Fitbit's criteria has appeared on the app, and the "track exercise" part of the dashboard shows that I have done my exercise goal for the day.
Over the last two days, although the Charge 2 records the steps, calories burned, and time as usual, the exercise does not appear on the app, nor does the "track exercise" part give me credit for doing my exercise that day.
I keep the Fitbit app up-to-date. Where do I go from here? Thanks!

My Charge 2 is finally tracking exercise days and sleep stages once again!
I did two things yesterday - at least one of them did the trick, but the change only happened later in the day.
First: I restarted the Charge 2. To do that, connect it to your computer with the charging cable. Once connected, press and hold the button for at least five seconds. When the icon and firmware number come up on the screen, release the button.
Second: I shut down the Fitbit app, turned off Bluetooth on my phone, turned on Bluetooth again, and then restarted the Fitbit app.
I suspect that the first was the solution, but I leave both with you, just in case.
Hope it helps!
PS - I'm a little disappointed that no Fitbit staff people offered a solution. I finally found these possibilities by scanning a number of similar posts.

First check if it has synced recently. The only way to know for sure is, from phone dashboard, click Account icon at top right, then next to 'Charge 2' it shows last sync.
If there was a recent sync, check the fitbit.com dashboard to see if it is being recorded but just not showing up on phone app.

Thanks for your response.
Last sync: one hour ago!
The exercises are not being recorded on the fitbit.com dashboard, either. Last one that appears is from last Saturday. There should be something for yesterday and today.

Which of the available modes are being used to track your exercise?

I have used automatic tracking all along. I've never used anything else.

I'm having the exact same problem. The last day it automatically recorded a workout was Saturday. I didn't work out Sunday or Monday but today it missed a 35 min treadmill run.

Ditto, and it’s making me nuts! I’d actually be winning this week if my Charge 2 were willing to cooperate. What’s worse is that I just got it three days ago.

Looks like I'm not the only one with this problem! Just adding this in the hopes that someone who has a solution might see this and kindly pass it on!

New trick. As you can see, not only does my Fitbit app not report exercise under "track exercise" from my Charge 2; it now won't report sleep stages...

Same problem. No tracking of exercise since last Saturday. This is a recurring problem for me. Can’t fitbit get it together!?

@jfh65 are you manually starting the exercise tracking through the app or the Charge 2? Or do you simply let Fitbit decide 'if you where exercising?

@jfh65 so i conclude that you take off and let the tracker decide what type of exercise to record .
I'm not sure which type of exercise you are doing. do you do it long enough for your minimum setting? Also if the user pauses to long in the middle the time gets reset.
The nice thing about the Charge 2 is that there is 4 different wauswto track an exercise.
How do I use exercise apps and modes on my Fitbit device?

I’ll give it a try.
I have set walking as my exercise to track. 50 mins goal and always get to 65-80 mins. I reloaded the fitbit app, at someone’s suggestion, and it didn’t help. Today is the third day of exercise with no tracking. What do you suggest? Thanks

I'm not sure if you set the daily walk goal to 50 minutes. or the minimum walk time as 50 mimutes before a walk will be auto detected. .Of course if the walker pauses to long the 50 minutes gets reset back to 0 .
I'm also not sure which mode was used to record the walk.

I also deleted and re-installed the App. All my data re-populated and the dashboard works fine for all the metrics being recorded.

If the auto exercise logging is not working, you can open the app before starting, through the track exercise screen you can hit the plus sign. Two option, if you just finished, you can 'log previous', but if you do it BEFORE you start, you can do 'tracking' for any run, walk or hike, which will GPS the distance and pace, etc. to calculate the calorie burn better.
