I've recently upgraded from the charge hr to the charge 2. However I can't get it to track my exercise properly. Its not showing my heart rates for the exercise session now like it did with my charge hr. Is this the model or is there a nack to it?

So disappointed in this brand and company. I have been a super loyal fitbit customer since 2014, but this issue is infuriating. What's more infuriating is that it's been this many months and there still is no "fix". Clearly, there isn't going to be. I hate the new interface as well, but stripping away the heart rate monitoring from tracked exercises was almost the straw that broke my loyalty. However, the ridiculous amount of time since this was first reported to now and yet still no fix....That does it for me. I was planning on upgrading and purchasing a new fitbit before a trip I'm taking abroad in January, however, I've decided it's time to move on to a brand who values their consumers more than this. Farewell fitbit.

Your anger and frustration is totally justified - I am also looking into other trackers. Hr during exercise tracking is vital info during training - of course we can log same exercise during the same time but the extra work is enjoying since the tracking hr during exercise used to be there.

When I started this thread, I never expected it to be still running at the end of november.
Obviously Fitbit are not interested in resolving the issue, and now Google are buying them, I think I will start looking for a different brand. Really disappointed as once i choose a brand, I tend to stick with it.
Thank you for nothing Fitbit, and goodnight

Just bought a garmin in Blackfriday sale. It would have been another fitbit but not after this.

I've just been given a new Versa by fitbit as the old one had SO MANY issues with tracking fitness (which is it's primary function). After my second complaint, they basically replaced it no questions asked which really makes you question if there is ANY confidence in these products if they're that quick to issue an entirely new product at no cost. Even the second fitbit I got is faulty. I disagree with this being an issue of how tight or where on your wrist you wear it. The replacement fitbit I was given just stopped tracking my heart rate in workouts. It shows my heart rate as zero. Both fitbits I've had are worn at the same spot and tightness and have only suddenly started having this issue despite all the troubleshooting I can find online. Unfortunately if you contact fitbit the only option they really offer is to switch it off and on, reset it, hard reset it etc. and none of these work.

Yep - reckon I'll be going Garmin route as well. Oh well. Been a long enough time to "fix" this...

Here's the Real Reason why I dumped my Charge 2 for a Applewatch series 3
Read all about it via next link:

The Real Reason Google Is Buying Fitbit
among others:
.......The most obvious potential lure is the health data of millions of Fitbit customers. Fitbit devices have been tracking wearers’ health metrics for over a decade, cataloging behaviors like steps taken, calories burned and exercises performed. That’s just the kind of thing Google, fundamentally an advertising company, needs to further build out its profile of, well, you. Advertisers already take educated guesses at your health status, with apps like period trackers sharing your info with Facebook and others.......
Imagine sharing all your health info on Facebook and other social sites with family, friends, friends of friends and others who know where to look and dig in the pool of data gathered by Google!
Okay you Fitbit adepts, think this over...

Garmin Fenix 5X...problem solved.

Reckon you’ve found the fix because Fitbit certainly not interested in providing one.
4 months Fitbit, 4 months....
For us as consumers, there are now numerous other devices and brands on offer.
Fitbit has gone the way of Nokia...
And funny how no moderator wants to chime in any more - I’d say they know it’s not being fixed?

What a joke this is. A simple problem created by a programming error in an update back in the summer, and still not fixed. I would just like to know at this point, as they clearly won't be fixing, or even addressing the problem, is due to ineptness or apathy towards its customers? What about all of us who bought this product specficially because it tracked heart rate during exercise? Makes it now worthless after the fact, doesn't it? Will we be eligible to return this product now, after an adervtised feature has been removed???

It's really annoying, on my charge 2 the auto recorded exercise will record heart zone percentages, but the manually started will not, even if these are the same time!

01-26-2020 08:12
Same for me. If I let it autodetect my walk, I will have heartrate on that walk. Also if I manually start it on the fitbit, it will log my heartrate, but if I start a walk in the app, no heartrate will be logged.

01-27-2020 12:36
If I start an exercise manually - no heart rate info. If it is autodetected, then the HR Data is there. Annoying

Exactly the same. Can't believe they still haven't fixed it so many months after first reports. Definitely my next tracker will not be from fitbit!
