Exercise tracking not showing heart rate

I've recently upgraded from the charge hr to the charge 2. However I can't get it to track my exercise properly. Its not showing my heart rates for the exercise session now like it did with my charge hr. Is this the model or is there a nack to it?

It shows me HR on band when I did “bike” then today it went to miles and was wondering how I can get HR to be on band/screen.

here is trick, once you sent to “run” or “bike” or other mode, and if you don’t see HR on top of the screen then hit the band as if you are changing the mode that will switch all available mode/setting. One of them in HR and once your see that you are good to go. So trick is hit the band as if you want to change mode/setting. You will get it.

enjoy!

This is a fatal bug. Fitbit obviously isn't going to fix it. I just bought one, but am sending it back and buying a Garmin.

A little more info. I have a charger 3. When I start the Walk Exercise via the Fitbit app, heart rate is not tracked, but gps is accurate.  Start same exercise via the charge 3 device, heart rate is tracked, but often gps just randomly ends...

Did anyone solve this ? I have the same issue (sorry about resurrecting a dead thread) but I can get the heart rate by starting exercise on my fitbit (Charge 3 HR) but have no GPS tracking. If I start on the phone I get GPS but no heart rate

My charge 3 had same issue. Working now. Think that I did a sync,
followed by clear user data on the device. Hope that helps

Same issue here on hr2... Working all perfectly fine until early this year. Want to see how bad the app has become (I don't want to be negative.... Just showing truthfully). Attached screen shot is from my walk this morning. I start the GPS mode on phone and walk mode on watch. Send up with 2 graphs... Bottom one has no heart rate info (GPS graph) and top one has both.

Top one accuracy is completely wrong. It's a 5km walk (10% out). Place is around 9m/km.

I also have RunKeeper working in the background to track my walk.

So how do you trust Fitbit anymore?

And is anyone else having it NOT auto-detect walking (I did 30 mins) but it did call them active minutes, so when I go log walking as exercise, it SUBTRACTS my steps and active minutes from the previous total!!!

I have the exact same issue with my runs, and it's extra annoying because I'm starting to train for a marathon, and my coach wants me to pull through the info into another app, but if I keep tracking on two devices, it's going to mess with her calculations. I'm just so frustrated with this.

Fitbit, are you going to fix this issue please?

Glad I'm not the only one having issues here. Automatic activities record heart rate fine. It records my heart rate fine when sleeping. If I create an activity though, no heart rate info gets recorded. I think occasionally, it's appeared as a seperate activity, (with no distance details) This didn't happen last year. Not much point me using fitbit otherwise.

same problem with the charge 4 here, except the difference here is that it worked for 5 months and now in the past 3 days it hasn't tracked my heart rate for several exercise sessions. It got about half of a hike (though the numbers seem way off) and nothing for a bootcamp or spinning session.

all, a couple of things I tried that helped significantly;
1) Make sure the tracker battery was > 50-60% before starting exercise
activity
2) wait for the GPS icon on the tracker to show connected

1) I will try

2) I always do this for GPS tracked exercises. My problem seems to be with non-GPS exercises. The odd thing is that it worked fine for months before this. Also, if I go into my daily heart rate, it did seem to track something over the exercise period that seems appropriate--but no data shows up for the exercise. I'm thinking that either it is an app problem or maybe the sensor is dirty or broken and unable to track at the expected rate during exercise (I looked down a couple of times during the exercise and saw a heart rate of ---.

Same here... any setting fixes

I just recently started tracking with GPS and noticed this occurring too. All my auto-detected exercise activities show my heart rate, but my GPS tracked activities do not. Why in the world would they *remove* functionality?!
