I've recently upgraded from the charge hr to the charge 2. However I can't get it to track my exercise properly. Its not showing my heart rates for the exercise session now like it did with my charge hr. Is this the model or is there a nack to it?

Also Interesting to note that this all appeared to begin after the firmware update released on 24 July 2019: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Charge-2/Charge-2-Firmware-Release-22-58-0/m-p/3630967
And I just happen to have a Charge 2...

I just left a large store, and was told it was a Fitbit plan to do this. So anything you bye from them can change at any time.

This is also affecting the charge 3 (which is what I have). There is a thread on that forum where Fitbit appear to acknowledge a problem and they are working on a fix, so don’t give up hope

Hello,
I have the same issue with my Charge 2 starting from 28th of July, before that date my device was working properly and the Fitbit app showed a HR graph after excercise!
In my opinion this issue has nothing to do with a more or less tightly wearing of the band because recording of HR during exercise is not effected anymore since mentioned date while my tracker continues indicating heart rate clearly during excercise!
As you can read in the reactions a few Charge 3 trackers are also experiencing the same issue.
Fitbit is well advised to do something to this!

Inspire HR exact same issue purchased this watch July 13th for this reason to track HR during walking etc and it worked great July 14 - July 24 as of July 31 none of my tracked in app exercises have the HR data. This needs to be fixed!

On another thread for Charge 3, a moderator on the 08/09/2019 basically confirmed that this is occurring across multiple models, Fitbit are aware that during tracked exercise heart rate is not being logged and are apparently working to resolve (see copied post below)
This should not of happened in the first place. Why else do we use these devices! I do not believe that anyone in Fitbit HQ that tracks exercise did not notice this and go “what the?” And then immediately go to release QC and say “WHAT THE!”
Fitbit stuffed the firmware/software update, so a public acknowledgement would be good.
At least my Charge 2 did not brick like others have 😞

Hi @Jaelkay, @Orvis, @GJALPHA, @Liz9500, @UnobtainableMan and @Kaia2009. I'm glad to see you here again, and I'm sorry for the delay in my response.
Thanks to all of you for sharing detailed information about your Charge 3 behavior, as well for trying the steps that have been posted in this thread. You did a good job! Fitbit has received feedback from the heart rate not appearing after finishing an exercise. They're aware and currently working on this situation to bring a solution as soon as possible. Be sure to keep your Fitbit device and app up-to-date to ensure you receive the quickest resolution. Also, you can keep an eye to this thread for future updates about this issue.
@Orvis, I understand your point of view about the heart rate appearing in your swim exercises. Although it's expected to not see heart rate readings, sometimes it may appear when using SmartTrack but not with the exercise app. I appreciate your feedback and we'll keep working to improve our devices.
@Jaelkay, since you mentioned to have issues when syncing, please make sure to turn off other Bluetooth connections nearby, as well to keep the Fitbit app updated. Also, if you've not done so, please try the steps described in this help article.
If you need anything else, let me know.

My charge2 has not tracked heart rate since the end of July. I regret purchasing this device. How can a feature that is key to the functionality and usefulness of the device be lost for this amount of time. I keep looking at this forum and continue to see nothing but failure.

Cheer up Blustnmtn, there may be light at the end of the tunnel! I read somewhere in this forum that Fitbit is aware of this issue and is looking for a solution! (I sincerely hope). So I will give it some time and wait for the update that hopefully will solve our problems. If not I will buy a new tracker and this will certainly not be a Fitbit!

I’m having the same problem and it’s a pain as I upgraded Strava for the HR stats and can’t get anything and haven’t since end of July. Any news on a fix? My HR shows when I set the activity from my fit bit for workout and weights but anything done from the activity tracker part of the app shows no HR stats

I have a Charge 2 that was working fine until I took the latest software upgrade yesterday. Ever since it has not registered my heart rate at all. I've noticed the green lights on the underside are on, but are not nearly as bright as they were before the upgrade. I don't know if it's the software, or a timing coincidence and is a hardware issue.

For a moment I thought it had been fixed as my heart rate showed on a walk/jog that I DIDN'T track via the app.
However, just tested my theory this morning and if you just use the wrist button to start a run, heartbeat shows in the app with the exercise data. If you use the app to start a run (using GPS), then you only get calories burned showing with the exercise.
As others have said, its a bit pointless not being able to see heartbeat info together with exercise data.
Shoudn't be a difficult fix Fitbit!!!!?????

Thanks LiliyaFitbit but after 3 weeks this is still not resolved - this has
been a core feature of charge HR and it’s variants since the start and now
it’s gone.
Aside from casual users, this is a key feature of these devices and without
it, they are not much use to those of the community that use them to track
heart rate during exercise.
Fitbit - you are going to lose so many customers due to this if not
resolved NOW and patch tracked exercises since you stuffed it up - that
means retrospective fixing of heart rate for exercise as it has been
recorded, just not paired with exercises!

Hi Rhoscolyn,
Fitbit is obviously still not successful with resolving the HR issue of excersise tracking as anounced by our moderator LillyaFitbit. I suspended my intention to upgrade to a Charge 3 as the 3 also has the same issue.
If Fitbit don't fix this in the week to come then for me it is exit Fitbit and I will buy the new Polar Ignite watch with wrist-based heart rate and integrated GPS.

I own a Charge2 purchased June 2018. I purchased this device solely for tracking/logging HR during exercise. This no longer works. I have an Apple iPhone 8.with the Fitbit app installed. This seems to be a result of the recent Firmware update and my problem is apparently widespread based on the messages on the Charge2 community page. The response from Fitbit to this is unbelievable considering the time that has passed and the number of complaints. What should customers affected by this expect going forward? I don't envy your predicament but we deserve an honest answer as customers.
