FItbit Charge 3 unable to see anything on the screen

Hi, my Charge 3 screen just suddenly turned black and I can't see anything.

 

Unplugged, I am completely unable to press the side button.

 

Plugged into the charger, pressing the side button just makes it vibrate, and it doesn't matter if I hold it for 5 seconds, 10 seconds, or 15 seconds, it just keeps vibrating and nothing shows up in the screen.

 

My phone is also unable to track the Charge 3. I have tried to turn on and off bluetooth several times, updating app to the latest version, even turning on and off my phone, but nothing works.

 

Please advise on how to fix this and what should I do. It's disappointing that for such a price, the gadget barely last for a year...

Mine has gone blank too

Wrist band popped open & FitBit fell onto wooden floor Display is blank Wont reset Charges at 20-30 mA according to my USB current meter

No vibration at all when I connect charger & press button

Will not sync App will not find it Bluetooth cant see it.

Seems totally dead

This was replaced under warranty for same issue so Im giving up on Fitbit if this cant be fixed as its out of warranty now

Let me help you with your Charge 3 not working. You don't mention any troubleshoots so please restart your tracker by doing the following:

  1. Plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Clip the other end of the charging cable to the port on the back of the tracker. The pins on the charging cable must lock securely with the port.
  3. Make sure the button on your tracker is aligned with the button opening on the charging cable. You’ll know the connection is secure when the tracker vibrates and you see a battery icon on your tracker’s display.
  4. Press and hold the button on your tracker for 8 seconds. Release the button. When you see a smile icon and the tracker vibrates, the tracker restarted.
  5. Disconnect your tracker from the charging cable.

Have tried this and a full reset (as per advice through Twitter support) lots of vibrations, but screen still blank 😔

Tried this multiple times Doesnt work

USB power meter shows charging @ 10mA 4.92 Volts Has drawn 762 mA over weekend

It did vibrate a couple of times when I held the button while on the charger earlier but it wouldnt reset and now has stopped doing that again

I am having the EXACT same issue.  Mine is black and if I put on charger and hold to reboot it just vibrates.  My phone no longer can see the device either.

So now what?

Mine quit working Friday November 20, 2020 and has yet to come back now on the following Monday.

 

I have been trying these techniques daily to get mine working again with no luck. Changed the clock face, tried every reset technique described here.

I contacted customer services (or similar) - they are replacing it for me.

My husband's Fitbit screen went black a month ago. He purchased it in February. I've tried all the resets and nothing works. He's not happy. Can you help?

I have the same problem, is fitbit contacting all people who had wrote here? Or I had to do something else?

Same here dead since Friday none of the reset procedures work..

Out of Warranty so not sure what happens next.....There are a lot of people with the same issue so would. hope FitBit offer a reasonable solution......

Thousands of people are encountering this problem.

 

Interestingly someone wrote: I was able to fix the blank screen issue twice using the reset during the warranty period. After the warranty term expired, the blank screen was permanent; conveniently not long after an update. I tried every method posted and nothing worked. Being an electrical and firmware engineer I find this highly suspect. Poor quality is one thing; intentionally sabotaging devices to prompt additional sales is unethical. Apparently, enough people are willing to continue purchasing these devices to offset the loss of business due to this practice.

I have had this several times since warranty replacement but was able to recover it Not this time.....

There are a lot of unhappy Charge 3 owners out here so the ball is in FitBits court to offer an acceptable solution

Result !
Charge 3 Woke up & started to vibrate on button push...Got White line a few times which sat for a few minutes before fading out but kept trying & eventually got smiley face & re-boot worked Looks like a Firmware update may have caused this as now showing 20001.88.11 battery full...Hope this helps

I have had FitBit since Charge 2 & really like them ( (When they work )

Same issue as of a few hours ago. It worked this morning and was able to sync. Then an hour later it is black screened with no ability to hard reset.  I’ve tried to put on charger and hold button for 15 seconds - no response other than occasional vibration but still a black screen.  Tried to remove from Bluetooth connection and now I can not reconnect.
