FItbit Charge 3 unable to see anything on the screen

Hi, my Charge 3 screen just suddenly turned black and I can't see anything.

 

Unplugged, I am completely unable to press the side button.

 

Plugged into the charger, pressing the side button just makes it vibrate, and it doesn't matter if I hold it for 5 seconds, 10 seconds, or 15 seconds, it just keeps vibrating and nothing shows up in the screen.

 

My phone is also unable to track the Charge 3. I have tried to turn on and off bluetooth several times, updating app to the latest version, even turning on and off my phone, but nothing works.

 

Please advise on how to fix this and what should I do. It's disappointing that for such a price, the gadget barely last for a year...

Would it be possible for all of us that are having this issue get a response of guidance on what to try?  That would be super helpful. I have a Charge 3 - almost 2 years old now.  I’ve loved it until today.  I’ve tried all suggested solutions with no success.

They are replacing mine!
Quite impressed as I’ve had it around 2 years.
I went through customer services, very efficient indeed!

I have same problem .. can hardly see screen! Wasted the day trying toy fix this 😫

Hi - got response via Twitter to check that I’d followed restart instructions- I had - but screen still blank. Awaiting further reply from Fitbit

My husband’s has the same problem. After trying everything multiple times, I called Fitbit. Being out of warranty the best they could do was 35% discount off new. I ordered on 11/30/20 and still haven’t received the new one. They are blaming the USPS, but the USPS hasn’t received it, only an electronic label has been made on 12/1. Good luck; I should’ve bought elsewhere.

Hi - I was offered a replacement Charge3 or 50%discount off a limited selection of Fitbits. I have just had notification that my order has been despatched however not received yet. Good luck - hope you receive soon

How old was yours? My husband’s is 3 years old. I just received a shipping notice that it will arrive Dec 14th, 2 weeks after the order date.

Mine is 2 years since purchase but has been replaced under warranty
I love these devices & just wish they where more reliable

I agree. Amazingly I received a notice that the Versa2 I ordered to replace the Charge3 is coming Monday. Hopefully the Versa2 is more reliable.

I had mine for 2 years.  I wasted 3 weeks dealing with the support service.

 

In the end I was advised that the device was no longer in the warranty period and therefore not eligible for replacement.

It's the same for me, the screen is completely black, if I restart the Fitbit (Charge 3) it display the smilling face for a while and when the "OS" load then black again, so looks no a hardware issue but a software one, is there a way to factory reset the Change 3?

 

Also, from what I see in the forums and/or Internet the issue is wide spread
