Unfortunately I’ve had three fitbits that broke in less then a year had two replacements and they also broke in less then a year as well and when I contact Fitbit I found that their records were not accurate in regards to warranties. They said my Fitbit was replaced in January of 2018 when it was really replaced in June of 2018. Also apparently the warranty continues even though the device is replaced by a new one. So if you have a factory warranty that covers a year and your Fitbit brakes and they replace it 5 months later. You will have 5 months left on the warranty even though you have a new device. Ultimate rip off. I paid a bit over 300 for a device that can’t even last a year. So sad.

gotta agree, I had one that started separating from the band, out of warranty (one year) no help from Fitbit. 15% discount if I want to buy a new one. Why would I want to buy a new one for hundreds of dollars if it is only good for a year? I can buy a fitness tracker for about $30 at Bestbuy.
Still using the fitbit, I have been gluing it back together.lol

Fitbit Charge HR - I was originally given my 1st tracker in late 2017 as a birthday gift from my daughter and after 6 months of normal use the pink attachment at the back where the cable for charging goes in came loose, I contacted fitbit with proof of purchase and photos and they agreed on a replacement they sent exactly the same model to me, this one lasted less than 3 months exactly the same defect again it was replaced my 3rd replacement which lasted less than 9 months and again the same defect, on contacting fitbit I was told this was a common issue and that they had stopped with that particular model all fine on fitbits part but my gift was almost £150 which is very expensive for a badly made activity tracker. Fitbit have now declined to replace this as my "original tracker - the one that lasted 6 months" is now out of guarantee" they have offered me 25% discount on a new tracker if I purchase it on their online store - by looking at reviews on the trustpilot page I am certain it would be a complete waste of money.
I have now ordered a unbranded tracker which has excellent reviews at 4 times less than what fitbit charge.
My advice to anyone is to think twice about getting a fitbit activity tracker, read all the reviews first.

The newer Charger with replaceable straps is great for the old strap breaking problem but my battery when fully charged discharges in under a day.
lithium ion lasts longer than a couple of years. So it must be the watch .
Such a pity for Fitbit as I like the simplicity of it .

I am disappointed as well!. I have had the same issue. I've been given two replacements that have both stopped working within 4-5 months of use. The original did not last but 4-5 months. It is very sad and frustrating and I feel fitbit should do more. I had the Versa, the very first full color and touchscreen by fitbit. I too feel that I have been ripped off as fitbit has no solotuion other than to ask me to purchase another device.

I have had a Fitbit device for over 10yrs. My first was the Fitbit One and it lasted FOREVER!! Even when I forgot I had it on and jumped into a pool! Their products have seriously deteriorated in quailty over the years. After many years, I upgraded to a Fitbit Alta that lasted maybe a little over a year. August 2019 I bought a Fitbit Inspire HR. By the first week of February 2020 it was not working. I contacted customer service and they promptly sent a replacement. Nice, or so I thought. A couple of months later (June 2020), the replacement stopped working. Again contacted customer service and was issued a replacement. It is now October 2020 and again, the replacement has stopped working. I contacted customer service and the rep was rude and abruptly ended my chat when I questioned the quality of Fitbits products if they can't last more than 4 months at a time. (I went through emails it has been 4 months TO THE DAY (Feb--June---Oct) when I had to contact customer service about the device that has suddenly stopped working.) I am now "out of warranty" for my device and the best they can do is a 35% discount to buy something new from their store. NO THANK YOU! I am not wasting my time or money any longer.

Since 2014, i haven't had a fitbit fail in less than 3 years, and a few are going on 5-6 years.

Since you like to give your own stats @Rich_Laue here's mine:
- 2 Ionic dead
- 1 Versa dead
- 1 Versa lite dead
- 1 Ace 2 dead
- 1 Alta dead
However if is worthy to highlight that i have a Fitbit Blaze that is still running great.
I also own a plethora of other wearables from other brands (the oldest being 9 years old) and they are all alive and kicking.

Then again, Apple doesn't expect their watches to last much past 3 years.

Charge 4 lasted 13 months, just long enough to be out of warranty. Poor design of the band clasp, broke off. They offered 35% of a new one. my wife has an Apple Watch that is going on 5 years. I guess I will join her.

I have a Charge 4. After only 20 months of use, the mount that holds the band has broken off. $100/20 months = $5 per month...But if I want a Charge 5, it's $150.
This is not my first Fitbit issue, I am looking at other brands now.
