Find my phone feature

Hi,

The competitors have a feature called "Find my phone". It is a very simple thing and very usefull. If you lost your phone there should be an option "Find my phone" on the Fitbit wristbands that will enable a sound to your phone to easily find it.

Please implement it via firmware/software updates an all wristbands and smart watches!

You can change the clock face so that it includes the date. you can also change the number of seconds the screen is active.
Search in the settings menu from your phone.
I still wish there was a find my phone feature. I have been  told there was a work around for this, but I was not able to get it to work. Perhaps one day!!!!!!!

Can't believe this is still an issue for Fitbit....I had a find my phone app with my $99.99 Pebble, years ago, and now Pebble is owned by Fitbit....should be a slam dunk....paid 4x that for the Fitbit Ionic and just cant believe it doesn't have this feature...is without a doubt one of the most valuable apps you could have.

I have used the competitors watches since smartwatches have been out and I have just made the switch to Fitbit. I have to say that is the only feature that I am truly missing. It is so useful!

Was disappointed to read the "accepted solution " it seems that samsung gear fit 2 is not only cheaper but has WAY more features. I will probably return my fitbit versa for another samsung gear fit 2. I used the "find my phone" feature ALL the time.

Same 😡

I was over the moon to receive this watch and realized this is the feature I use most often. I figured it was coming until I see this issue has been going on for years. EPIC FAIL Fitbit.

I went back to samsung gear fit 2 pro. It has so many more features and a way nicer screen. I don't have to download 3party apps, but you can. I just returned the Versa, which is really only good for looking like a knockoff apple watch. If you want better functionality,  try Samsung.

I too would like to see a find my phone option or App and can't believe they did not have one from day one since it's a very common popular option, so much so that even those cheap Chinese smart watches you get from that Wish app for 5 bucks that takes over a month to arrive from China and is the quality of that stuff you get from comic book mail order places has a find my phone option. My vívoactive® HR has a find my phone option.

Hey do t be sad man  you can make your display to stay always on  u can do that only when u exercise from the watch settings or if u want it always on also when u dont exercise u have to download some watch faces using you fitbit app from the phone  . U watch faces are called - Nothingspecial, Ambient and the watch faces from the developer called BV Designs all have always on display. You just need to type their names in the search box and install them they are higly customizable in the settings

I tried IFTTT and Switchr on my Fitbit ionic but I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. What am I supposed to put for Event name? Where do I enter my phone number so it calls my phone?

This is such a lame response from Fitbit. Samsung watches have had the find my phone feature for more than 6 years. Clearly Fitbit chooses not to implement, or the programmers you employ are incompetent.

I kind of figured it out using my galaxy S8 and my ionic. The only thing is I had to use 2 different buttons on the watch. One to raise the volume when on silent and the other to call the phone. I couldn't figure out how to do both with just one button.

The other issue is that I couldn't get it to work on my daughter's galaxy S6. Not sure why it didn't work, I did the exact same thing I had done with mine.

Yes, I'll go ahead and try to type instructions on how I did it and post it. II'll try to get it done later today.

Here is my tutorial for finding phone with Fitbit Ionic & Versa. Since you have to use two buttons I will have tutorials for each. Not sure if images will show up here but I think instructions are clear and easy to follow.

"Unsilencing phone with Fitbit ionic& Versa"

1. Install (Switchr) into watch through
Fitbit apps inn your phone.

2. Install (IFTTT) on your phone from
your phone's app store and create an
account.

3. On you phone, go into (IFTTT) and click
on the (+) on the top right to create your
applet.

4. Now you will see "if +this then that".
click on the +this.

5. On the next screen click in the search
services and type in (Webhooks)

6. Type in (Webhooks). Webhooks will
appear with triangular logo and you
click into it.

7. The next screen will show
(Receive a web request). Click it.

8. On the next screen it will ask you for an
(Event Name). Here you want to input
something like "lostphone, findphone,
callphone, etc...) Anything like these
will work. Make sure there are no
spaces or use (_) to separate words.
Make sure you remember the event
name you entered and exactly how
how you entered it. After you enter
the name, click on (create trigger).

9. After clicking (create trigger),
It will take you to a screen
"If this then +that" click on
(+that)

10. Here it will ask you to (search
services). You can search by
entering (Android device) or just scroll
down and you should see it.

11. Once you find the (Android device)
box, click it.

12. In this screen you will scroll down a
little and look for
(set ringtone volume) and click it.

13. This screen will show the volume
that you want your phone to be
turned on too if your phone is on
silent or vibrate. You can adjust
it or just leave it. You will then click
on (Create action).

14. After clicking (Create action)
It will work on creating it and
you will then get a blue screen
with your applet preview. Click
(Finish) at the bottom.

15. After you click (Finish) another
screen comes up letting you know
that your applet has been turned on.
From here, just click the back arrow
button.

16. When you click the back arrow
It will show you your completed
applet and that it's on. On the top
right is a gear icon. If you click on
It, it will show you your settings for
the applet you just created. Click
the back arrow here as well.

17. After clicking the back arrow it takes
you to (My Applets) screen. In here
do a search again for (Webhooks).

18. Click Webhooks icon

19. When you get to this screen, click
on the gear icon that's on the top
right.

20. It opens up a webpage to your
Webhooks settings. The important
thing to look at here is the URL:
which is in blue. You need to click
on it.
Do Not click on (Edit connection) you
only click on that if your having
connection issues and it will give you
a new key.

21. Once you click on the URL from
the previous page, you will get this
screen. The top shows you're key
but what you really need to look at
is underneath where it says
(To trigger an Event)
(Make a Post or Get web request to)
Where it shows {event}, you will click
inside and enter the event name you
originally created. In my example
through this tutorial was (findphone).

22. After you enter the event name,
scroll down and copy the entre
https: which will include your
event name and key.

23. Once you have copied the entire
https:, go to your Fitbit app on your
phone and look for your (Switchr)
app that you had previously installed.
Click the gear icon on the right to
enter settings.

24. In settings you have four buttons that
You can use in your Ionic or Versa
watch. Pick whichever you want
and click on it. This will open up
Some settings and options.

25. Under URL, past the URL that you had
copied earlier from Webhooks.
Under button name you can enter
whatever you'd like so you know
what that button is for. It will appear
on your watch in Switchr. As for the
button color, that's up to you as well.
Give it a few moments and check
your watch. The button you just
created should appear. With your
phone on vibrate or silent give the
button on your watch a try. Give it
a few seconds to activate and you
should hear a beep sound which
means your phones volume has been
turned on.

This tutorial was to get your Fitbit watch and Switchr app to unsilence your phone. You will follow the same steps to get your watch to call your phone after the ringer has been turned on.
