Firmware 22 53 04 Not connecting to app.

Ok - maybe time to put all this together on one thread.

If your replacement Fitbit won’t connect to the app then I suggest you check the firmware.

To check this plug the charger in and hold the button in for five seconds until it reboots. The firmware number comes up immediately it reboots.

If it’s 22 53 04 then that’s the problem. Fitbit won’t admit it and are stalling for whatever reason.

We we need to get Fitbit to admit it’s the firmware and not the app.

I still cannot get them to connect even after update? What did you do special to get the fitbit to connect and update?

Crap sorry I replied to the wrong thread. They fixed the notification badge not going away, not the sync.

So I purchased a Charge 2 back in Jan and had this firmware issue, I have 2 diff replacement pebbles both with 22.53.04 so neither ever worked. I set them aside and got a fitness tracker from another company. I pulled them back out again just to see if maybe the issue had been resolved, but they still don't go through set up. Found all these conversation lines from the beginning and I'm just curious if the firmware issue was ever actually resolved or what. Haven't found any conversations indicating that anyone ever got their trackers to work again.

Hello, Fitbit have sent me a replacement which will not sync. Think this is the same firmware problem, is there a fix for this? Thanks

Just had a replacement pebble delivered today for my Charge 2 which developed the inability to hold charge for more than 5 minutes. The pebble they sent has 22.53.04 firmware and won't pair to my iPhone, my mac or to my android tablet all with latest version of app. All usual troubleshooting steps followed and usual BS replies from customer service saying follow vanilla troubleshooting steps. They sent out a brick not a pebble and this problem clearly has not been sorted. Absolute disgrace!!

Update. CS agreed to send out a replacement and you can't make this stuff up when i click on the link to get the replacement ordered the link doesn't work! Even if it did i guess they'd just send another bricked pebble with the dodgy firmware!

Hello, I have now managed to get a new replacement after contacting them directly via phone. This did take some persistence and it is clear that the new replacement they have sent is a new fitbit (all boxed up with instructions etc), with new band. I'm not sure but think the previous replacement they sent was a refurbished one or a return (it just a pebble in a plastic bag), this has the old software. So the message is persistence does pay.

Thanks Garjo. I emailed direct to their head of customer support whose details I managed to track down. They have offered to replace with a brand new fully boxed Charge 3 so you are correct persistence definitely pays off
