Firmware update silent alarm issue

My Charge 3 went through a firmware update today (v20001.88.11) and now there isn’t an option to set a silent alarm. During the update it said that they would be deleted and I’d have to reset them but that option isn’t anywhere that I can find it now.

I just updated my Charge 3 today, 8/21/20 and cannot believe some “genius” thought, hey removing the silent alarms from the app would be a fantastic idea.

I hope the yahoo who suggested this is in the unemployment line today.

I totally agree

You can do it from the watch. Swipe left until you find alarms. Tap on it. Hit the plus sign, hit time, , scroll up or down for hr, repeat for minutes, then go back with side button one ush, from here you can turn alarm on/off. Make sure you turn range off, then select repeat days. I hope this helps

This is so stupid! I have 9 alarms for taking medication. Forgot my meds 3 times, before I realised I no longer have a silent alarm to warn me. Having to add them on the device itself is really not fun. I haven't got a good overview on all my alarms. Please, take it back to the app, this is rediculous.

So if you look at the Fitbit statement, this is what it says : Our technology has never just been about building trackers. It’s about you—and finding better ways to help you live a healthier, more active life. So when we say we’re dedicated to creating smarter sensors, fashionable form factors, efficient electronics, intuitive interactions and engaging social features, it’s because we’re dedicated to you."

Fitbit clearly state that they are customer focused and dedicated to giving their customers what they want - With this in mind, why is it so hard for Fitbit now to admit that they made a mistake by moving the silent alarms to the watch, as opposed to remaining on the app, which is far easier to manage and set.  This feature was removed . We are demanding this this be put back as nobody wants the silent alarm feature to be controlled from a tiny watch .  This makes no sense. You know how to restore the feature as you removed it so I do not understand why Fitbit is now saying that this feature needs to be looked at and scoped and possibly done if it's feasibly or wanted by customers.  Just do it and keep you existing customers happy otherwise you will lose them, simple as that 🙂

I'm really annoyed by the alarm going as it's one of the reasons I have Fitbit I would like to know if they are planning on bringing it back as I can't do it on my Fitbit and I had different times for the weekend

I worked out how to add extra alarms. Once you’ve set one, go back to the alarm part of the watch menu & hit the pwlus symbol in the grey circle. That will allow you to set additional alarms.

I have multiple alarms set every day, so it was a shock to me too. So glad I can set my wake up AND 1pm alarms! I’d be lost without those for work!

Ive just worked out how to tailor the alarms for particular days. Tap the alarm you’ve set, and then scroll the watch face down until you find “repeats”. This will give you options to set for particular days or everyday.

there’s also a “smart waking” function, which I think will be a good addition. The idea being the watch monitors for the appropriate part of a sleep cycle nearest your designated wake alarm to wake you so you don’t get a jolt, or break a sleep cycle. I’ve set it for tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

Put the alarms back on the app as it use to be, with all the functionality. The alarms are in the top 5 functions of this device. And from those of us who are visually impaired, it is too hard to set alarms via the device. Find out who made this decision and send them back to where they came.

Or

Take the update off my phone and device and return it to the previous version!  Don't make me return the firbit!

Everyone needs to vote for restoring this feature!!!

I vote YES it needs to be restored to the app. I do have a work around using my laptop but it's a pain.

Found new app on charge 3 but still cannot set same time for multiple days.

Looks like it’s time to move on to a different brand wrist monitor.  My main use was keeping up with medication schedules and weekly appointments.  No time for this foolishness!

Of all the brain dead product upgrades I've seen in my decades of working with technology this is the pits.  You go out of your way to tell us to re-check our silent alarms after a firmware upgrade but do not tell us how to create a silent alarm in the next sentence.

I was also able to set more than one alarm, although it is next to impossible on the device itself, as the text is really small. It does, however, seem that only the last set alarm is really active, and the other does not alert you although it shows as active. No more separate silent alarms for early weekdays, weekdays and weekends. 😞

That is what I found too. My second alarm did not go off, although it
appears to be set and On when I check in the Windows app.
I am really curious to know the thinking and the reasons behind this move
of breaking the existing alarm functionality.

It is incomprehensible that they removed the silent alarms from the phone app.  It is WAY more difficult to see and set multiple alarms.  I HATE this update SO much, I wish I could put my app back to the previous version and erase this update.  Is it possible to go back to the previous version? I regret installing this. Totally outrageous.

On the device (if you somehow manage to see what you are doing, since the alarm functinality is TINY on Chage 3), you have the option to use the "sense the best time to wake up". If you set that as OFF, the device still judges when it feels like waking you up instead of waking you at the set time. Tried this on three mornings and gave up. Totally unreliable, the repeat does not seem to work, and no option to manage multiple alarms for different weekdays so that they all work as was previously possible in the mobile app. At least we finally got the 24h clock, which seemed like an impossibility so far. Small mercies, although the silent alarm is now useless.
