Fitbit Calories Burned and Distance Travelled

Hello, I recently had my fitbit app telling me I was 4 inches tall. I've updated it to my actual height (5ft 5in). I currently weigh about 235 and exercise (weight lifting, jogging/walking, martial arts) for about 20-40 minutes a day. I also work as a teacher aide and I do a lot of walking around, maybe about 8000-10000 steps before the end of the work day (with more at home as I exercise).

Now my fitbit is telling me that at 10am I've burned 1281 calories, travelled 1.48 miles, and did 3500 steps. I know my fitbit is tracking my hand movements as steps, and I don't know why. I am right hand dominant, and my fitbit is on my left hand (in the app I have it set to have my fitbit handedness to right and wrist placement to right as well)

Anything I need to look at and change? I'm just confused as to the sudden change in how fitbit tracking my activity and such. It was working just fine before, but I was being measured as 4 inches tall - which was obviously wrong.

@surichan0 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here!

Let me help you with your step count and personal information. The height in entered by the user at the time the account is created so most likely you made a typo when entering this data. Regarding the steps, your device will detect the movement on your arm and translate that movement into steps. There are situations in which your arm may move but you won't be actually walking. For example, this may happen when you are playing the drums, burping a baby or clapping. It can also happen while driving. You can negate these steps by logging a driving activity. You can try wearing your device on your non dominant hand but select that hand as dominant on the device’s settings to make it less sensitive to movement.

Let me know how it goes.

Yeah my steps counts are fine. I am just wondering about the calories burned. I have recently stuff regarding TDEE and input my info on some calculators. I usually put the following:

Height: 5ft5in

Weight: 235lbs

Activity Level: Moderate (or any option that says i exercise for 30 min a day)

BMI: 39

I do get like 2900-3000 calories...which  somewhat matches what I see on my fitbit. I just.. want to see other people's experience and input. See if it looks normal to them. If anyone who is an expert could even chime in, that'd be great.
