Fitbit Charge 2 - Bluetooth Pairing and notifications not working

Hello - I have tried the troubleshooting suggestions for the above problem with no success.

Bought this Fitbit last Friday.

When first set up Fitbit - the notifications worked but this stopped after about three days. In the APP I get prompted to pair the fitbit when I click on 'notifications' and after quite a while of the thinking donut thingy, I get a message 'Bluetooth Pairing Failed'. Bluetooth settings on iPhone shows that the Fitbit IS being picked up and all other syncing IS working. Also not connecting is All Day Syncing...any suggestions?

Things I have tried;

  • Deleting APP and resintalling.
  • Resetting fitbit by holding down the button whilst on charge then waiting for the fitbit logo to appear.
  • Turning off bluetooth in iPhone - waiting a few seconds then turning bluetooth back on (Charge 2 IS showing as connected)
  • ensuring 'do not disturb' is not on.
  • Fitbit is charged - never totally drained.

Try uninstalling the app and reinstalling, then sync, I have heard that helps. I did not need to go that far.

Restart your Fitbit and turn off your cell. Then check your settings. Good luck! I know frustrating it is.

Thanks - it worked!  I am using my daughter's charge2 and it synced on day one, but then not today.  this solution worked great.

I did what you did and had success. BUT the Bluetooth connection fails again and has to be reconnected manually. This goes on every day. Other Bluetooth connections are working properly with the iPhone 11. The app is also displaying the incorrect battery charge. I think the Charge2 needs updating for the latest iOS.
