Hello - I have tried the troubleshooting suggestions for the above problem with no success.
Bought this Fitbit last Friday.
When first set up Fitbit - the notifications worked but this stopped after about three days. In the APP I get prompted to pair the fitbit when I click on 'notifications' and after quite a while of the thinking donut thingy, I get a message 'Bluetooth Pairing Failed'. Bluetooth settings on iPhone shows that the Fitbit IS being picked up and all other syncing IS working. Also not connecting is All Day Syncing...any suggestions?

Hello @boynton 21, your Charge-2 doesn't have to be showing as connected on the phones Bluetooth settings for it to sync.
Since your talking about your phone, it would be very helpful to know the phones model then we can give specific help.
Have you restarted both your phone and tracker, removed the tracker from the Bluetooth settings? If so then open the app and force a sync.
Let us know what happens and any error messages.

Have tried all the advice I can find here. I think the problem is that the tracker is not handshaking the bluetooth signal properly. On my mobile device, bluetooth will sometimes see the tracker and ask to pair, but no code will show up on the tracker. So unsuccessful pair. On my computer, bluetooth can't even locate the device-- doesn't even ask to pair when right next to it. Pretty frustrating. Is there a problem with the tracker or the software on it?

Sorry @Kurdy, im not sure what you read, so not sure what has been tried.
You say sometimes bluetooth sees the tracker, is this on the computer? Doing it on your unknown mobile device wont work. It also would be helpful to know what tye mobile device is, There is a slight difference with ios?
As for a code on the tracker and the mobile device, the app will send this, not the bluetooth of the phone. This code is not used for pairing of tye tracker, but to attach the tracker to your fitbit account.
My first question is, have you setup the tracker to your Fitbit account yet?

Thanks for the quick reply Rich. I have tried all the turn off/turn on advice for the devices, bluetooth, computer phone etc. Have reinstalled software on all.
I have an iPhone 5 with the latest iOS. Bluetooth on the phone recognizes the tracker occasionally, asks me to confirm the number (no number shows on the tracker) and I say pair anyway. Get message sync unsuccessful. Have the app running, never asks to pair.
On computer (Mac with latest OS) have reinstalled the app. I think when I first installed a few days it must have connected because showing a sync that day, but no option/button given to sync since then.

Lets open the app up on the phone?
Do you see an icon of your tracker in tye top right corner?
If so, place your finger on the screen and pull down. This will start a sync.
What happens? Any error messages?

OK, did a third re-install of the app on my phone. Now it asked me to sync for the first time automatically. did this right before your message. Took your advice and yes, my tracker is now showing at the top and when I pull down and release it syncs. So phone appears good. I am a tech guy so used to unexplainable weirdness, but this was a little weirder than normal. Thanks.
On the computer, not seeing any icons to sync. Have reinstalled the app twice. When I launch the app have a choice of setting up or syncing. Have tried to set up a number of times. Tries to sync-- can't find tracker. Tracker hasn't ever shown up that I am aware of as a possible bluetooth device to pair with.

I did as suggested but did not work. My issue is setting up: it is paired in bluetooth but not in the app. I have deleted Charge from bluetooth, closed bluetooth, closed browsers, restarted PC: all do not help. When I select "add new" Charge2 is found. Unit is vibrating. It has been plugged in for over two days while I attempt to set it up.

I tried a couple of these suggestions, but the one that worked was removing my FitBit from my Bluetooth options ("Forget this device" ) and then reinstalling it. Thanks!

I've also had problems (just recently) syncing my Charge 2 with my iPhone. I have done your recommendations and the "reset" worked (I reset the Charge 2 while in its charger). But I shouldn't have to do this 2-3 times per day - the syncing lasts for a couple of hours and then the iPhone and Charge 2 can no longer find one another. Please upgrade the fitbit app or the Charge 2 software to correct the constant syncing issues. Thank you.

I agree. I'm still having the same issue with Charge 2 and Windows 10. The last time it fully synced was August 14. It begins syncing then states it is unable to find Charge 2. I manually enter my steps, sleep, etc. into Spark to keep track. Something has to be done to correct the bug.

@teal_mn, this thread is about notifications ossue, then hijacked to a sync issue. The troubleshooting tips for a computer are slightly different

My charge 2 has stopped connecting to iPad or iPhone. Also had no notifications for months. Fed up with it not working intermittently. Will be asking for replacement.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! This worked for me! From my iPhone Bluetooth settings, I selected forget this device. I then paired it there and I made sure notifications were turned on for calendar, etc. Notifications are now working! Thank you so much! This feature had also previously worked for me and had stopped working at some point. So glad to be back in business!

I was having this same problem and tried this, but it still won't work/ It syncs fine, but when I try to touch notifications (or switch to all-day sync, side note) it says it has to pair, and then won't.
