I know the charge 2 isn't waterproof but is there any way I can track my swimming? thinking if I get the pool measurement and time my swimming activity? I'm new to this whole fitbit thing!

Ion beyond disappointed right now. I had a defective charge and after going back and forth with customer service via chat they offered a discount if I upgrade.  I told them I loved my fitbit but I was an avid swimmer and would gladly  upgrade to something I can swim with. They offered me the Charge 2 for some inexplainable reason because now I'm reading this and finding out I was swindled into upgrading to something that I still can't swim with!!  Angry and disappointed!

Hey hey hey @Pilotmike5, it is great to see new faces around! Normally when your Fitbit has exceeded its warranty, our Support team offers you some other options to get you back on track. In this case, as you mentioned, they offered you a discount, which is very useful in order to purchase another Fitbit and keep enjoying tracking your activity.

So I hope that you can make up your mind and maybe choose a Flex 2 which is perfect for swimming. 😉

If you have further questions or comments, let me know!

If you reread my post you will see that I said I was told the Charge 2
would be good for swimming. Because of this, I used to offer to purchase a
charge 2. I'm very disappointed I was misinformed and would like to have
this issue resolved.

I use my Charge 2 also in Aqua programs and mine still works like a charm.

Best Answer
That may be but it's not designed for use while swimming and voids your
warranty. I'm annoyed their customer service representatives didn't direct
me to the proper product.

Probably will die at some point @TNGirl52 Its not meant for water at all.

@HeydyF So are you going to respond to this?  I was told this item would be ok for swimming by a Fitbit representative.  Because of this information I purchased the Charge 2.  I'd like this to be resolved and as a Fitbit user for several years I'm disappointed no one thought it would be worth getting back to me.

This is getting a little insulting to my intelligence. As I've stated
already, I was told by a fitbit representative that the Charge 2 would be
ok to track my swimming. This is why I agreed to upgrade my device. Now
I'm learning that's not the case and I'm stuck with a device that is no
better than the last device I was using only an additional expense.
Sending me links to product is a slap to the face and if I'm going to be
treated like I'm an idiot I'll take my business elsewhere. Please resolve the issue or have someone contact me that can.

Sorry @Pilotmike5, but this is the comunity of Fotbot users, the help your asking for might be beyond what a Fitbit will be able to provide. This could have a better resolution by contacting Fitbit.

Best Answer

It is overseen by moderators that are fitbit representatives.  They should resolve the issue or have someone who can contact me at the very least.

Best Answer

They could at moat create a case for you, if they stumble appn this thread, and somebody from suuport wull get in touch within a few days. Or you may contact support through Twitter snd have a response within a couple hours. Your decision.

Or another option......

Rich-Laue What happens if we are not twitter users?  As a Community Council Member you can do something for the community and Flag the posted questions that specifically need FITBIT intervention, to a FITBIT moderator???  Or is that too obvious a fix!!! Better just to give Sarcasm!

We go through support and they tell you to post here and they will answer, then they do not answer!!!!

Best Answer

@Mymanhood, any user has the ability to flag a post or can easily mention a user or moderator in the same way that i mentioned you.

As i mentioned above, the best a moderator could do is open a case. You as a user could do this by contacting fitbit by phone, live internet connection, email, Twitter, or Facebook, s message could even be left on their YouTube channel i suppose.

@JayKner maybe you can help me with this?  Trying to get answers and not looking to get in a ridiculous war of words but if you read this thread you will see I've been pretty clear in asking for help.  Instead I get answers that make me question whether @HeydyF is a person or a bot.  Beyond that, you can see my frustration is building and all @AndreaFitbit seems to be concerned with is my keyboard caps hurting her ears.  I loved your product as does my wife and along with your scale we use them religiously. However, I'm starting to feel like my money may be better spent on an apple product if this is how my problems are resolved.

@Pilotmike5 Hey, there! I'm sorry to hear there was some misunderstanding when you purchased the Charge 2. Unfortunately, as has been discussed here already the Charge 2 is not water-resistant and does not track swimming. I've gone ahead and created a case for you on your behalf so our Support team can get in contact with you. They'll be able to offer you some options to reach a resolution. Keep a lookout in your inbox. Please let me know if you have any questions.

I successfully and happily used a Charge 2 for swimming 3 times a week in a competitive swimming club environment.  3,000 to 4,200 yds per session.

Very accurate HR tracking, as far as I am concerned.

I am in a competitive Masters Swimming program at a local college and so the laps and distance was provided to me by the coach.

HR tracking gave me a metric to use for tracking my effort verses my times.

The watch is not waterproof but a third party company called "waterfi" does it.

Of course it voids the FB warranty, but I wanted the info- so it was worth it for me.

It died in September of 2017, and rather than get another one, I opted for the Ionic which is natively waterprooff and has an upgrade HR system anyway.

I think you should consider the Ionic.

It's not perfect but I don't want to bother with wearing a chest strap, too annoying when doing different swim strokes....

Good luck..

IMHO

The only thing you should NOT do, is to push any buttons underwater or when the watch was wet. The button area is the most vulnerable area. I regularly swam with my stock non waterproofed Charge 2 for almost a year b4 it failed.
