I know the charge 2 isn't waterproof but is there any way I can track my swimming? thinking if I get the pool measurement and time my swimming activity? I'm new to this whole fitbit thing!

Try going onto the Fitbit page & contacting them directly. They are really easy to deal with. When I had my first Fitbit & the band broke they replaced it with no problems. Good luck. 😊

@Ruclimbing I'm not sure what your asking, the info to contact Fitbit will be found under Help in the Fitbit app.

Hi,

After all this time, does it still work perfectly?

Do you think the watch died, because of the usage on the water?

It died after about a year of constant use.
I switched to the Ionic and like the brighter screen & larger numbers.
Big improvement
Very happy

Just wondering now that it has been a while how your charge 2 held up in the pool? I am considering buying one and I only tread and do water aerobics but my daily exact calorie burn is important so I want to make sure I can wear it while I am exercising...

Your advice would be very helpful.

Well mine is still going strong, but please don't take that to mean yours
will definitely be OK! I don't swim regularly at the moment, though I do
shower in it twice a day every day. I also managed to smash it against a
post while taking a tight corner on my bike. A couple of hairline cracks on
the screen, but otherwise it endures. These things are built well!

For what it's worth, I replace the stock strap with a metal link chain one
with magnetic clasp. It fits much better (because you aren't limited to a
pre-defined selection of holes, you just tighten it continuously) and looks
nicer.

Hope that helps.

I’ve moved past the Charge series to the Ionic.
1/Better battery life.
2/Larger display
3/Much brighter display
4/More intuitive stopwatch & countdown timers
5/Protective glass much more scratch resistant
6/Wider watch band is more comfortable on my wrist

I read all the comments about swimming with the watch, looked it up on YouTube some videos about submerging the charge 2 under water, and made the decision about testing it myself.

It lived!!

The strap lost some colour, but I normly don't use the original one, so no harm done here.

I noticed the protective film I have on the screen, may fall sooner than later  but, this was just an experience over the holidays, to see if the watch could be trusted on the beach and on the swimming pool, and it did.

Best advise for continued underwater success is to NOT push any of the buttons while watch is submerged.
That is the likely entry point of any water....

I thought exactly the same, and this week I tried swimming in the pool and on the beach, and it still ticks lol

Pushing the buttons with almost any watch designed to be worn under water is never advized, and certainly should not be done on a device not rated to swim with.

Wear and tear on the band is normal and seems to effect the Charge 2 band more. Every Charge 2 wearing I've asked has said that they needed to buy a pack of replacement bands. I had to replace my band within 9 months of regular wear and tear.

I had to have my whole charge replaced because the band broke right off & my fitbit landed on the ground & cracked. Fitbit replaced it but the band is already starting to bubble again. The one they replaced was only bought last Christmas & the new one I've only had for about a month. I bought my daughter one for Christmas last year too & her bands are already bubbled too.
Its rather disappointing considering how much we pay for these items.

I’ve had my charge 2 since November of 2016. I was told while purchasing that you are able to swim whilst wearing and have done so since the first week of having it. I still wear it to swim, kayak and paddle board to this day and have not experienced any issues. I have had to replace one band over those years but was due to a class issue not anything involving water or falling apart. I hope this helps! Happy workouts!
