I've got the Fitbit Charge 2 and have had the new update on my app of the R.E.M. Stages graph for a while now however all it ever showes is 'no stages'. Why is this? Very frustrating as I really would like it to work.

Did the app give you a reason for seeing no sleep stages? It usually will.

Seems to me that there is a lot noise about REM not appearing - but very little is done about it by the company. Have tried all the suggestions in this media but REM is not back

Maybe not actually. It worked for 2 nights but not last night. Seems very glitchy. Idk. Maybe a problem with fitbit software or something. Hopefully they'll fix it because I love to see the REM cycles 😣

The main reason I bought a Fitbit was to track my REM sleep. I am still within my return time-frame. Would the other members recommend I return it or wait for a fix?

My sleep stages have never worked properly and I just gave up.

I just spoke with Fitbit about this issue Feb 25,2018. A couple of things: 1) They said you need to restart you fitbit watch. Do that by plugging in your fitbit charger to your watch. Make sure the connection is correct and signals that it is charging, and then push in the watch button for about 5 seconds until it vibrates...this resets the watch. Next, 2), make sure your are NOT hitting "log my sleep" at night on your phone app. 3) make sure you battery level on you watch is not low. 4) make sure you wear the watch higher (two fingers) above the wrist and make sure it is snug (but not too tight). In the morning, hit your fitbit app on your phone and it will sync. Once it syncs. you should see the 4 stages of sleep you just had. Fitbit did say the watch will still log your sleep, not sure on that yet. I always did tap the "log my sleep" on my I-phone before because I like to keep a log of it. If this doesn't work, I will be calling back Fitbit.

Please read the Sleep FAQ in fitbit's interactive and searchable help docs. Using the start sleep now function is suppose to disable sleep stages.
If your not getting stages the first thing to do is look at the app and see if Fitbit knows why.

Why is there a Begin Sleep Now if you aren’t supposed to choose it? That’s a ridiculous feature!

It is still very useful for trackers without heart rate, and for the few users that do not want to see sleep stages, preferring simple sleep.
Some use it because they want to record the time they go to bed, not the time they fall asleep.
