Fitbit Charge 2 screen stays on heart rate and will not collect data

My Charge 2 stays on the heart rate screen and keeps juddering and will not register steps etc. it will charge but goes down quickly. I have tried resetting a few times but still the same, when you try to sync it just keep flashing through all the pages, any ideas please.
