Fitbit Charge 2 shows calories burned while not wearing it?

I forgot to put it back on after I got ready to go outside and left without it. I walked for about an hour and put it on when I came back. When I checked the app it said 473 steps, which makes sense, but it told me I’ve burned 1,900 calories and I was active for 58 minutes. I wasn’t carrying my wristband with me, just my phone. And even though 58 minutes of being active matches how long I walked for.. 1,900kcal seems like a lot considering it’s Only 5pm.

I hope someone can’t help me with this:) thank you.

@Leco Thanks for stopping by! Sorry for the delay in my reply.

Let me help you with the calories shown on your account. The tracker and account will use your personal information to calculate the calories burned by normal bodily functions know as BMR so even if you don't wear your tracker you will see calories burned. If you used the phone to track your activity then the data will link with your tracker once you sync and you will see this on your account. If this doesn't seem to be what happened then please provide more information including a screenshot of what you see on the Dashboard (main screen) and the activities area.

Let me know how it goes.

[Image.jpeg]Hello,

I am aware that I burn about 1,500kcal every day even without moving.
I know that those calories show up even if I don’t wear my wristband all day.
That day I was not wearing it when I went outside( I walked for about 2 hours 12.30-14.30)but it detected a pulse (1st picture, I took it off at 11am and put it on at 5pm) and when I checked the Fitbit app it showed I’d burned about 1,900kcal at 5.00 pm, which even if I had been wearing it, would’ve been a lot. Even though it showed my pulse (when I wasn’t wearing it) and also said I burned a lot of calories, it didn’t detect the steps. Does my phone (the app) detect movement as well, or was it just an error?
Thank you for your reply.

this is because your body is constantly burning calories and they designed the fitbit to recognize that you’re burning calories when “resting” and/or not even wearing it.... if that makes sense

Hi:) thank you for your reply but I’m aware of that. My issue is that I was not resting and my wristband detected a pulse and activity and added about 700 burned calories while I was outside but not wearing it. I normally burn about 1,500 when I’m not doing anything, that day even though  I wasn’t wearing it, it went up to 1,900 until 5pm.
