I'm really very upset and disappointed. I went to bed with a working Fitbit Charge 3 and woke up to a completely blank screen. I have had it about 18 months I think. After a year I already had to replace the strap (not cheap) and now it's toast.
Things I have tried: I did the clock face change......nothing.
I tried the reset......no smiley face......nothing.
I let the battery completely run down then fully recharged......nothing........tried the reset again......nothing.
I tried to see if the software was up to date.........there is no software version listed and also no update option.
I can't check the Fitbit for version as it's blank.
This has been going on for a couple of weeks......
Today I tried removing it from my app thinking to resync it and see if that helps. Guess what? I can not add a new device because the screen is blank so I can't see the code for bluetooth connect.
Very very frustrating.
This device was not cheap but clearly is faulty. My question is.......FITBIT - what are you going to do about it?

Hi @JillWeighell yes I already tried it. Also, my fit bit is not linked anymore to my cellphone and to re linked it I need the code which I can’t see because the screen doesn’t work 😞
Thank you anyway.

I would have to hook my Fitbit up to the charger and hold the side button for 10-15 sec or until it would vibrate 6 time and a line would appear. When that was done I would take the charger off and then put it back in and then would get a happy face then the time. Then I would take it off the charger and put it on my wrist. Then it would work like normal until I took it off. Hope that works to get the clock face back on.

Hello Edson!
I'm having the same problem as the rest on the thread and have tried everything that was suggested.
Plugged it into a charger and hold the button down to reset. Changed the clock face. Nothing works... My FitBit still vibrates and has the green flashing lights at the back, so I know it's still working. I just can't get it to work properly. Could you help me out? I can't seem to raise a case myself.

I've been having the same problem and have tried all of the proposed solutions with no success. My display stopped working but it vibrates and records activity. The display works on the charger (with some flickering) but not on my wrist. It's frustrating to not be able to tell the time or record my exercise. I've restarted multiple times(with both the smiley face and the horizontal bar) but it makes no difference. My Charge 3 is less than a year old, and this is my 3rd Fitbit in less than 3 years. I love the Fitbit community & challenges but I'm really unhappy with the reliability.

Hi! Ive tried this but the progress bar never appears, it goes directly to the smiley face and then the clock face. The second and following vibrations never occur.

I had the exact same issue with my Fitbit Charge 3 today and contacted Customer Support and was told to check an email with warranty options. When I received the email this is what I got:
"After reviewing your account, we see that your device is no longer in the warranty period, and therefore isn’t eligible for replacement. For more information about our warranty policy, visit www.fitbit.com/returns"
So at the end there where no options for me....

Hi, I too am having the same problem. I put my charge 3 on charge and when I took it off charge, it no longer worked correctly. All I see is a blank screen. It does vibrate when I push the side button and the light on the back works. I have tried the reset with no success. I am very disappointed! I have only had my Charge 3 for about 5 months. I payed way too much money for a product that doesn’t work. This is not what I expected from a company like Fitbit.

I explained to the support team, they created a case and then they provided the option of a replacement/ or discount for a new one. I choose a new one. I'm just waiting for my new fit bit to arrive.

I am having the exact same issue. Had my Fitbit for less than a year and now the screen is completely blank.. it vibrates but the screen doesn't work. Seems like this is a common problem. Fitbit please fix!

The Charge use to have a brightness adjustment setting IN the actual fitbit app. At some point when they did an app update they removed the setting from the app.
IMO they need to add this back to make it easier to adjust the brightness especially when the screen goes black and you don't want to sit there and play the "reset the fitbit" game or you are somewhere out and about and aren't trekking around w/ the charging cable

Hi
This very same thing has happened to mine. I tried to follow the long reset but when I hold down the side button I get one vibration only and no improvement on the screen. Can you help?

Well Edson, I saw this discussion yesterday as I am having similar problems with my charge 3 as kiwinvan. Your suggested fix appeared to do the job, but it didn't last. The device then went blank again. I tried again. It now has half the face, vertically, filled with can only be described as visual static and the intended information is on the other half, which of course means that you don't actually see any information. Oh wait, it's just gone blank again. I got this device for Christmas last year as a gift from my partner. In that time this problem has happened several times and I have had to do the reset and reboot process on multiple occasions, now it seems to be completely kaput. Also the strap gave out. Fortunately I have purchased a couple of cheap replacement straps but you would think a strap would last more than a few months. The product is quite expensive and I find it quite appalling that they are so are so prone to faults and so flimsy when the idea is that they are for fitness tracking. You would expect that the people who wear them are active and therefore they should have some level of robustness. Please provide me with a number so I can discuss warranty issues, or better yet an e-mail address. I do not want to make a phone call to a call center where someone will go through the same crap that is available here or on various help sites, because it does not work. The device is broken. It is infuriating that you seem to make it as hard as possible for your customers to contact you. I cannot see how you will able to sustain a decent reputation this way. I am very, very annoyed with your company.
