Hello, today, my Fitbit Charge 3, which was perfectly running for a week, was frozen. Restart first didn‘t work. Black screen, nothing happened. It did not show the charging symbol. Then I connected it to my MacBook. Suddenly it woke up. So what will happen when I don‘t have a MacBook to wake up my Chaarge 3?
By the way, this happened 1 day after I installed the new firmware. A bug?

Welcome on board @SunsetRunner! Sorry to hear that the display on your Charge 3 has frozen. In order to sort this out, I'd recommend restarting your tracker by following these steps:
Give this a shot and let me know the outcome!

Received my Charge 3 yesterday and used it for the first time today. Tried tracking exercise but the screen froze and the side button has no effect. Help.

Did you try to reboot it per the stickied post at the top?

Yeah must be a bug, mine did exactly the same at the same time. Just restarted it and seems to be working ok now.

I tried this method, but it still doesn't work. The display is totally frozen and does not react when I plug in the charger. No button appears... 😞 I got it yesterday, and it worked fine until it suddenly froze.

Mine has done exactly the same and it wont reset.

Although I plugged in the charging cable into a charger, the tracker did not vibrate and there was no battery icon. When I pressed the button for more than 8 seconds, nothing happened. No smile icon. Then I switched everything off and connected the tracker to my MacBook. Suddenly, there was the smile icon to be seen. Did I have luck that it finally worked? Remember: It did never happen before I made the latest firmware update yesterday (or 2 days ago). There must be a bug in this update! You‘ve got to work on it.... as soon as possible!

I have had the same problem looked at the screen an it went blank won’t work button won’t work either I have tried to reset almost ten times nothing happens when I plug it to the charger or trying through my lap top it’s fully charged it’s not syncing or anything an the flash light is staying on even when not attached to my wrist. Only had it a week rather fed up of this now

Same exact issue with mine. Have only had it for 3 days then all of a sudden the screen stopped working and won’t sync up. Spoke with customer service and they want me to return it and will replace it. Hopefully my new one won’t have the same issue...

I have had the same problem and also mine freezes when I'm clearing notifications, has anyone else had that problem? After about 10-20 seconds it comes back but its quite annoying!

Yes I have had this exact problem today. I am at work and don’t have my charger till I get home so I cannot restart it that way. Currently it is unresponsive with half a notification screen and half a clock face...
has been like this for 2 hours now.

Problem: I had the same issue the display screen on my charge 3 become frozen and unresponsive today while i was trying to clear my text and phone call notifications. At first i tried resetting it by holding the side button for 8 seconds and it didn't work. Second i tried plugging it in the charger thinking that would for sure fix it but that didn't work either.
Solution: What did work for me was the combination of those two things at once. it rebooted up after i held the side button for 8 seconds while it was connected to the charger.

Yep this is what I plan to try when I get home from work. A real shame that I will potentially have to carry my Fitbit charger around with me for times like this...

I’ve only had it completely freeze like that once and the only thing that could sort it was the reset whilst the charger was plugged in. I’m hoping as this tracker is only a couple weeks old these problems will be sorted with an update. If not I’m gonna lose my rag pretty quick!

Really annoyed! Fitbit charge 3 has completely frozen. Totally unresponsive won’t even reboot. Had this for 3 weeks and had nothing but trouble with it. How do I fix this or I’ll be sending it back

It was a super easy fix. Plug it into the usb charger and hold the button on the side for 8 seconds. It is the Fitbit hard reset. Worked for me so hope it works for you!
