Fitbit Charge 3 frozen

Hello, today, my Fitbit Charge 3, which was perfectly running for a week, was frozen. Restart first didn‘t work. Black screen, nothing happened. It did not show the charging symbol. Then I connected it to my MacBook. Suddenly it woke up. So what will happen when I don‘t have a MacBook to wake up my Chaarge 3?

By the way, this happened 1 day after I installed the new firmware. A bug?

Sorry to hear that.

My charge 3 went totally blank the other day. I put it on the charger and pressed the button for what seemed forever. Finally the smilie face appeared, the unit appeared to reset and worked as normal. I checked the battery and it showed 86% so low charge was not the problem.

Sad that Fitbit does not comment on this long series of problems with freezing screens.

Pressing and holding for awhile didn’t work. Any other ideas?

Mine did work for a week or so now it is totally dead.
Grrrr.

Put it on the charger and hold the button in for 8 seconds should get a smiley face and will restart mine did

Now it is totally dead.
I wish I had never bought it.
Oh well.
Going to see what the store we purchased it from will do.

Sadly it seems to be only by chance that holding the button will reset the unit. The 8 second or even 15 second hold may or may not reset the unit. Experience shows the holding for long periods and doing this multiple times may work. 

If if that does not work set the unit aside, get a good nights rest and try again in the morning. You may be lucky!

Clearly there is no positive way to get a charge 3 back to life. Sad but true!

Oh so glad it worked
I have to know idea why they freeze. Mine did it again. Reset worked again
finally after 3days the date and time finally corrected itself.
It sure is frustrating

This freezing problem is a real pain. I suspect that it is a problem with the internal software. I have never seen any Fitbit reaction to this. 

I also find find that syncing with an iPhone or iPad is slow and erratic. Mine will never stay on all day syncing. I need to reconnect to my phone or iPad on a frequent basis. 

Really the fitbit charge 3 is not reliable. Unfortunate but true!

It will work, just conect  to charger it vibrates but no battery appears.. still u press side button for 8 sec it wrksw

Glad it worked. Mine still acts up. .dont know why. I tried to get an
answer from Fitbit themselves but no reply

My froze this morning.   Correct date and time, but nothing else.  Followed the directions to plug into charger and hold down button. It worked.  Thanks.
