Fitbit Charge 3 only works when charging

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My fitbit charge 3 will only turn on when connected to the charger cable. The normal battery does not show up when its connected. When on the clockface it shows a tiny battery charging up from 0, but when swiping up, it looks like its fully charged, and on the app it also says it's 100% charged. I have tried changing the clockface multiple times, and restarting/rebooting.

Nothing works, and the watch doesn't work, as it shuts down the second I take it off the charger. Is there anything I can do?

@DaisyDentist, welcome to the forum. It looks like you tried pretty much all available troubleshooting options for this issue. I'm afraid, community will not be able to help with further advice - you may want to check with Customer Service for further device evaluation. Hope you can get it resolved!

This exact thing just happened to my charge 3.  Is there a direct customer support channel I can follow?

Mine is doing the same. I've tried restarting it, but it only turns on when connected to a charger.

When I woke up this morning it was at 82%...

I'm experiencing the same issue and have followed the same trouble shooting steps with no resolution.  I've had my Charge 3 for less than two weeks.

Hi, I rang the Fitbit help number. They quickly checked the watch’s serial number, asked what steps I had done to rectify the issue, verbally verified the purchase (no receipt asked for), and sent a replacement watch (no straps) in the post. Very satisfied.

Hope you get similar response.

Kind regards, John G

Yes, I reached out to FitBit and let them know that I tried all the
troubleshooting steps with no success. They agreed it was defective and
sent me a new component. They didn't ask for me to send mine in. Keep your
band because you won't get a new one.

Good luck.

I believe I used the customer service live chat feature and explained that
I went through all their problem solving steps and the issue didn't
resolve. They asked a few more questions (did you try this or that) and
then agreed to send me a new one.

Hi, I telephoned Fitbit Helpdesk. Explained issue and where and when purchased the device (didn’t need the receipt). And they posted me a new watch, because it was in warranty.

Good luck

I just bought a replacement. I probably could have asked for a replacement
under warranty, but it was bought as a gift and I had lost all the
documents.
