Fitbit Charge 3 vibrates when losing and recovering GPS connection

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Fitbit Charge 3 continually buzzes with every loss and recovery of connected GPS via iPhone XS when it’s in use,  It’s extremely irritating, sometimes happening every few seconds.  My Fitbit Charge 2 never did this.  Hopefully there can be a fix soon— this bug sounds pretty easy to correct.

Hi @hotnwell, welcome back! It's nice to see you around.

Thanks for the information provided, and let me help you with your inquiry. It's expected to feel a vibration when your Charge 3 connects and disconnects to the GPS. I'd recommend to change the vibration strength to "Normal" in your device's settings. Also, to make sure the Bluetooth and location services are enabled so the GPS can keep being connected during your activity.

Let me know if you need anything else.

The vibration strength is normal.  Bluetooth and location services are on.  It does show that it’s connected to my GPS a lot of the time, but it frequently loses then recovers the connection, with a vibration each time.  There are other threads with the same complaint, but no solution yet.  Adding the ability to turn off the vibration for this type of notification would be solve it.

Hi @hotnwell, I'm glad to see you here again. I'm sorry for my delayed response.

Thanks for checking the information provided before, and I'm sorry that your device isn't staying connecting via GPS. About the vibration, while currently there isn't an option to turn off the vibration, I'd recommend to submit your idea in our Feature Suggestions board, so others can support it by adding their vote and comments. The more votes an idea receives, the better chance it has of getting implemented.

Now, about your other inquiry, if the GPS is losing connection, I'd recommend to make sure that the GPS can continue tracking while your phone is locked. Also, that you have a strong internet signal during your activity, and to leave the Fitbit app running on the background. Once this is verified, please give a try to the following steps:

  1. Force quit the Fitbit app.
  2. Make sure the Fitbit app is updated to the latest version.
  3. Reboot your phone and restart your Charge 3.
  4. Then, start your activity using GPS connection.

Keep me posted.

Hi

I have the same problem. Constant buzzing as the GPS connects and disconnects every few seconds

It drops out mid-ride continually. in fact, it sitting next to me on the table buzzing like a hive.

It works for a day or two then just goes batty like this. I do not feel confident it will get me through a ride.

Also, the screen saver activates so quickly that the screen goes black after just a couple of seconds

how do I make the screen stay on for longer when I turn my wrist?

I am losing patience with my Charge 3!
